I don't want to mash the button on this Essendon spambot by the way as I'm no button masher, but whoever it is needs a permabanning or some shit
Those spambots just select teams at random. ;)

Also, there's no shame in mashing the button on such accounts!

Taken care of and banned.

Damn you pups ! Yeah Darcy is only 191 cm so i did not rate him a true
KPD, but Rutten and Morris and May or Darren Glass and Scarlett were
not overly tall either. I was just trying to make a point re the actual
cost pick wise between the two classes of KPP. For me the big one is
2004 Griffen at 3 instead of Franklin at 5, imagine as John Lennon
sang if we had taken Franklin (3) and Griffen (6) and Tom Williams at
pick (105) where he belonged would our trophy cabinet be over
flowing and could we be playing home games in Launceston for
millions of dollars. Oh well it's good to dream.;):fire:

Theres heaps of talls dude

There's barely any great midfielders or X Factor types which imo is the major knock on this draft

Vic Metro and WA were shithouse in the Nationals and there are quite a few good academy kids who won't really be open for everyone to select also, which are further factors that why the media emphasises that this draft is "shallow"

We need talls and perhaps another rebounder, there WILL be these types available at our picks I'd imagine
well, if you say so...........the last time we went tall at the draft table was in the compromised 2011 draft. ouch!

That actually wasn't bad considering 3 players still on our list were picked up in the RD/PSD in like you say a heavily compromised draft, good value for money there. The other was just traded and another was delisted last year.

Imagine what Dal could do if he did pull the trigger in the 2nd round :rainbow:

Balls on the line pups. Outside the obvious 2, in order, who would you take that is over 193cm at our picks?
Womble, how you been mate? Haven't seen ya around in a few months.

Are the obvious 2 you are referring to as Ben McKay and Marcus Adams?

well so long as we don't just go tall for the sake of it. We need to pick up a couple of midfielders to replace pearce and goodes and we did get a little thin for mids this year when we had a few injuries. played webb on the wing at one stage if I remember correctly

o_O

We made finals in a year we lost 2 of our 4 best inside bustling types to injury, plus a former captain on top of that.

We have natural development coming from many others already on the list

Replacing 2 rookie midfielders is the last on the priorities list I'd imagine, but why don't we load up on more dud midfielders for the sake of it

As the little Mexican girl on the taco adds says "why can't we have both"
Picks 20 and 21, on a talented mid and a flanker.
Picks 30 and 51, on two of Mitch Brown, Marcus Adams or Michael Hartley

That little Mexican girl is so wise.;)

Buddy we don't need any more midfielder we need 3 tall that play as Ruckman ,Backman,Forward that are over 197 tall cm and take Darcy Mcpcherson with our last pick in the national draft and replicate that in rookie draft as well we may uncover some hidden gems?

Don't all have to be 197cm, I guess rucks do, but not forwards/defenders

If you are shorter, having the build to fill out into a big unit like a Rutten, May etc would be the go. Marcus Adams is solidly built at 193cm, looks the ideal KPP size.

A 190cm 85kg type is not ideal though

Absolutely. Strong draft for talls, even tall mids and flankers

Here's a fact - in the 2014 draft, 10 of the top 30 were 190cm or taller
In the BF Phantom this year, 13 of the top 26 are
The later in the draft this year you have even more...

Mostly super tall flankers/mids though

Pick 20 and 21 on Fiorini or Bonner or Hibberd (my man) technically buddy
they are not mids, but could be replacements for some future retirements
that may be on the horizon. Can't have enough classy TALLER ball users
all part of the classic H rotation game plan that we are morphing towards.

Yeah all good - uni and work got on top of me so I went on a self imposed walk about :)

Schache and Weitering are the two I actually meant. I don't rate any of the obvious talls that could fall to our pick. I don't rate either McKay nor Collins nor Weiderman etc. Marcus Adams I know zero about and I like the fact he is 22 and 90kg + with apparently some mobility so let's hope he is a decent player and we rate him.

I think I'm getting my head around Dals drafting (or non-drafting) of talls it being - most are shit so you are better off finding them late or in the rookie draft and taking "best available" instead. Alternately trading in the good ones, and happily overpaying, once it's evident at about 22 years of age if they are any good. I support it and the post draft evidence seems to suggest it.

Do you rate the McKays, Collins or Weiderman at all? Do you see any of those guys being quality? From what I've seen in my limited viewing all have flaws that make me want to bypass the lot.

Yes I agree we need to add some KP depth/talent this OS. But 6?

Our Rucks
Tom, Roughie and Will ... all are serviceable. Hopefully Roughie and Tom improve significantly this pre-season. I don't think we are too bad off here. 1 more ruck on the list would be handy (even if in the rookie)

Our KPD
Roughie (not sure of his position tbh), Roberts, Hamling, Cordy (Morris at a stretch). We definitely need to replace Talia here for depth. Biggs and Wood can also play taller if required ... not ideal and I'd prefer not to be back in the Croft/Kretiuk days. If only those two were 5 cm's taller!

Our KPF
Boyd, Redpath + (Roughie, Tom, Will if we play 2 rucks) ... with Crameri, Stringer providing an ariel contest as well if needed. Maybe 1 more to be developing in case Big Red or Tom get injured.

I'd be happy with 2-3 more KPP's ... we don't want a whole heap of Austins, Marko's, McDougall's, Morgans ... clogging up list space.

There are no guarantee all of them will come good may be between 1-2 key postion or ruckman will do we need revist the 2006 we took Everrett with our first pick we he was consider a top 30 in the draft Scot Clayton didn't think he last to our third round selection given Frawely ,Riewoldt went after him.Us a Hawthron made a similar mistake in 2007 draft not drafting the number that player was overlook as bottom age player instead we took,Sam Reid at pick 35 and last selection was Guy O'keeff where as had promised to take David Zarakis but was overruled by coach instead they took Stweart Dew.

It's all i'm good for around here, i have no sources (yet), so i just scour Twitter and try and steal everyone else's thunder in the meantime :p
I just make stuff up (but I'm honest about it and typically include this statement in my posts when I'm completely fabricating things....)
