Sorry edited my post because the "lol" made it sound a bit condescending. Just trying to keep the lid on Goetz for now. Just because he kicked two goals in an intraclub let's not plan on him being our next CHF just yet, unless we are talking about footscray. Goetz is on the rookie list and may never play a senior game. Let's keep it in perspective.

Obviously, but the club would have a plan, and considering he has gone from not even playing TAC Cup to kicking two goals in a Dogs intraclub (and didn't he kick two goals v Demons also?) within 12 months. The dogs would no doubt see him as a big chance to play a significant role in the future, otherwise he wouldn't have been drafted. All i'm saying is given what we've seen, that seems to be the role that they are working towards with Luke. Geez mate, you seem to be nit picking a lot lately, no need to take every word as gospel truth, we're allowed our opinions as well.

Yeah just don't hold your breath on him. This year we will upgrading Adcock. Then soon enough Clay Smith (dead set gun) and Roarke Smith will be returning from injury. Then you've got Lynch who looks really good. Who knows if and when Goetz gets a crack. I'd imagine he will need to show a lot and is probably years away. My point is honestly that its a huge stretch to think we have a position earmarked for him. He's a "wait and see."

If we lose our ruckman, he gets elevated ahead of Lynch and Smith. Everything is a wait and see, all 44 players due to the risk of injury of you want to be pedantic. There will be a role set out for him by the club that they're working towards and if you don't think so, then you need to educate yourself a bit more i'd say.

Well Campbell is probably gonna miss this week due to an ankle injury so let's see if Goetz gets elevated to play round 1.

Goetz hardly got a touch at TAC Cup level - look at the stats, I think he averaged something like 1 effective kick per game. He wasn't even playing TAC cup until halfway through the year. He certainly drafted in terms of what he could become, not what he has demonstrated to be. That is to me the definition of being a project player.

He might have come on in leaps and bounds in just one pre-season, but I'm going to defer my judgement relative to what he was considered when he was drafted until we see how good he is in some competitive games, most likely at VFL level.

Cal Ward signed a 5 year extension at Giants. significant deal.
Glad he will go down as GWS best player in their history *at this stage*
Got use Macrae
Hated that he left but he's making his own future up at GWS.
Shame he won't win a flag when we are going for our 5th in a row

Agree would have sickened me to watch him float to another club. He's made his bed and he needs to sleep in it!

After much research, my list analysis has us desperately needing a 5'10" inside mid who previously played for the club. Preferably named C Ward or Callan W. Anyone have a solution to this?
I'd prefer that tough little 5'4" helmet head known as C.Daniel. More heart than Callan (for us anyway), and like Lukey D, talks about us a way that suggests that they won't ever leave us for the $$$. The sentimental side of me would like to think it's cause they are grateful to the club for giving them a chance - when others wouldn't. The fact that they aren't total flogs helps too :)

Callan Ward is 186 cm which is more like 6'1" maybe you meant Jason Tutt,
seeing you were all over Jarrad Grant you must have been a Tutt fan.
