And perhaps my valuation is coloured by the fact the players I'm putting up aren't worth much (another minority opinion)
I'm with you in the way that I would much rather trade established players that we've had a 40-60 game look at, than trading a multitude of picks.
I hate trading draft picks in the AFL if it can be avoided because second round picks have a habit of coming back and biting you in the ass and first round picks have the same habit, with even more frequency.
You also run the risk of becoming a norf and sacrificing your future or even your present by continually trading away picks for established guys, and then falling off a mighty cliff when those dudes run out of gas and have taken spots off younger players.
Whilst I think hurley is more in the Hawthorn mould of trade than a norf style acquisition, we need to be careful giving away picks like candy.
