The following still don't have contracts for 2017. I have ranked them into most likely to not very likely, with a trade bait exception for a couple:

Most Likely
Marcus Adams
Matthew Boyd
Kieran Collins
Josh Dunkley
Dale Morris
Roarke Smith
Clay Smith
Bailey Williams

Likely, but have trade value
Tom Campbell
Nathan Hrovat
Lin Jong
Koby Stevens
Joel Hamling

Unlikely
Jed Adcock
Declan Hamilton
Brad Lynch
Will Minson
Josh Prudden

You sure? Pretty sure all first time draftees get mandatory 2 year deals when drafted

Yeah, plus Lynch isn't "unlikely" to get a new deal. Any given opinion of his potential aside, you don't draft project rookies to delist them just one year later.

Also I doubt we delist Prudden.

Surely we delist Prudden, we need to make changes to our senior list this year and Hamilton and Minson are the only other likely candidates at this stage. Can't see us carrying a guy with a knee injury when we already have two others on the list, just doesn't seem like good list management.

Unfortunately for Josh I agree with this

Hopefully the club does the right thing by him and retains him either on the rookie list or offers him a VFL contract for next year + makes sure he gets through his rehab and stuff

Greenwood accepted a VFL contract so there is a precedent. Hopefully we look after Prudden.

Slightly obscure. I've watched him and he kicks it well but he's not very hard. He's like a poor man's Josh Kelly. Which may actually be still really good.
He seems hard enough for an outside type from what I've seen - goes when he needs to without hesitation. But I want him mainly for the romance.
And to call him Dancing Duggy in honour of his junior coach.

I would too, but I think it's the Cats or retirement. Has a career in the media waiting for him is he decides that's what he wants to do.
Who knows we've got links with Corey and King. Bet they've already been in touch.

Bartel and Chapman are a couple of the best clutch players ever. We weren't ready for Chapman, we are for Bartel. That sort of experience would be invaluable.

As you say though he has options.

Bartel has indicated he won't stay at Geelong if that meant he has to play VFL.

Would anyone look at him to play a Stevie J type 2 year role?

Could get him on the cheap!
It would piss a lot of cats fans off
Im up for that

With Wallis out and some of the other inside mids still really young, i wouldnt mind going after Barlow from freo.

28 years old and is a proven player that can play different position and would come cheap.
Especially if we lose clay or stevens

If we lost more midfielders than we expect to this offseason then yeah I'd consider it.

If you could pick one (obscure) under 22 player from another team, who would it be? For me, it's Wilson from GWS or Mason Wood. Man crush of huge proportions on both.
Nathan Wilson 7/1/93 DOB so technically too old, but
Obscurity and good clubs are the best combination.
Hawthorn- Dallas Willsmore 191 cm 81 kg DOB 29/5/95.
Sydney- Nic Newman 188 cm 84 kg DOB 15/1/93 mature.
Maybe able to get as yet to debut.

Genuinely surprised Wilson is that old. Didn't realise. If I was taking anyone partially obscure at Hawthorn it would be Litherland.

Angus Litherland is not a great kick, but he would have played a lot
more football at a club with a younger list profile. I like the 188 cm
to 192 cm running profile that can transition well as these types
are adaptable in the modern game.

Only if Jong and Stevens both left, he would play the run with role fairly well imo

Barlow is made of glass these days unfortunately though, so not sure if his body would hold up, in saying that, Koby is similar these days
