Would really like to trade jj and smith for Carlisle ( KPD) , then get best available in draft, either KPF or third rebounding defender or fast outside midfielder .
that would be funny if it happened, although I'd be sad to see Smith go
can't see it happening, but if Essendon supporters were dirty on Crameri leaving; they'd be even more dirty if that happened ;)

Schofield an emergency again for the Eagles, surely will look for more opportunities in the offseason. Would be a really nice addition to our list for a fairly low price if he wants out. Good size, great pace, hopefully on our radar.

You think that he's worth a pick earlier than what we paid for Crameri? Pick 30 at the VERY best, personally I think he's worth around pick 40. Average footballer.
I'm Going on unfulfield talent.
As someone else said he's playing the get out kick down the line donkey work. He's a better talent than Jones and a better work ethic.Wouldnt give up a first rounder, but a second rounder I would

Long time reader, rare poster (need to get more involved though). I was speaking to a friend last night who has close ties to Wallis and word is that he is extremely worried he will be traded in the bulldogs attempt to get a KPF. Apparently he is really worried and doesn't want to leave the club at all. Wonder how many others at the club are of the same mindset and is it effecting their game?

Seems like an awkward situation. Either the clubs at fault for trading Wallis (he should be a future captain, not trade bait), or Wallis is at fault for thinking this out of nowhere and maybe letting it affect his game.

Could just be all in his head, a guy up and down on form and slightly out of favour with the coach suddenly starts thinking he's gone. I personally hope not , I really thought he had captain potential, but at some stage the dogs will have to give up something big (package of players/picks as mentioned all throughout this post) to get what they need.

Problem is he's not "something big". Far from it unfortunately.

I think Wallis would get us a bit from a club thats looking for an inside mid. He really has shown a fair bit. Big bodied inside mids really don't start hitting their strides until mid 20s, just look at Kennedy at swans, Jobe Watson and plenty of other examples. Libba is just a freak really and probably making us expect a bit too much from Wallis, agree he needs to start getting some form back though because he has been down lately. Will be very interested to see how he goes tomorrow. Still think Boyd in the team is limiting his output but its up to him to overtake boyd.

Hooray for nepotism!

No, but seriously, will be happy with all of Cordy, Libba, Wallis, Hunter staying at the club, obviously. Cordy's showing good signs in a ruck duo we're grooming together at VFL level, Libba and Hunter speak for themselves, and Wallis is just in a down trough and has the mindset and the tools to get out of it and be a very good player.

Very early days.

Each time I have watched Wal playing with Footscray he has been pretty to very good.
I think it is a combination of the fact the coaches want him to strengthen a couple of aspects of his play,
and that structurally they don't see him and Boydy in the same midfield together. And I don't think they are
inclined to just unceremoniously dump our ex captain while he is still playing ok. This especially following on
directly after dumping another favorite son in Cross. I think it would not be a good look to younger players
particularly, or other veterans either.

Watching Wallis close up against Coburg , I was surprised how hard he was at it , he is as hard at it as anyone.
He is truly a tough nut. Has to many negatives to be a star , but still think he will play 200 plus AFL games.
