Haven't you heard?
Butcher is 'The Future' ;)

If this happens I'm moving to Switzerland.
How's this for a team in 2016
B: Wood Roughead Picken
HB: Talia Stringer Higgins
C: Macrae Liberatore Bontempelli
HF: Grant Crameri Dahlhaus
FF: Hrovat Patton Jones
Foll: Minson Griffen Cooney
Int: H'church Wallis Hunter C Smith

That'll do me. Bring on the premiership

That'll be the best midfield in the comp.

Aside from the odd positional change, I like it!
Would have Wood further up the ground to use his explosiveness and long kick, Cooney on the bench and Libba on the ball (not that it makes much difference) and maybe swap Honey and the Rat so we can have Mitch locking it inside forward 50 and Nath bringing the silk through the centre off the bench. Get the feeling they'll rotate anyway. :)

It's more like this, and this is what I'll continue to bang on about. What happens this year and next doesn't matter. People can go to the game blindly believing that we're entitled to win every game, but until these kids are 21/22 and older, we will be the little kids beating up on the big kids. BUT when were the big kids with a midfield that's all 6'3". LOOK THE $&@; OUT.

This is the best chance we've had for a premiership ever. This is the way other people will go about rebuilds. I have no doubt Macca is on the money. Happy to debate this with any of the blind unbelievers.

I don't think I've ever agreed with a post on BigFooty more than this.

Happy with that. CHB was a massive issue for me and although I do think stringer is a natural defender ( looks much better running at the ball!but struggles to defend 1 on 1 at the moment), Carlisle would be great.

Would be fantastic, but would probably have to kiss goodbye to Clay Smith at the very least.
Would still have koby stevens in an about the side, goal kicking midfielder.
Actually have Stringer on the bench and just play him where we need him so we could rotate a tall from either end and have coverage as well as big body mid coverage.

Agreed.
If we want these players we have to trade established players. I'd be gutted to lose Clay but as with any of them there's a hefty price tag.
But you're getting a 22yo almost All Aus CHB. They don't grow on trees. Makes a massive difference to that team too. The goal to goal line suddenly looks amazing.

He'd be a great fringe player who comes in to do a role. Don't forget there's always injuries. I wouldn't get rid of him at all.

He doesn't stand under a ball and mark it though. That's what we need and what finals dictates we need.
Teach him. Get Scarlett to stand next to him and have someone kick the ball up in the air and let them compete. Rinse and repeat until he learns. A few more kilos on his frame will help in time too.

So what we've ascertained is that we would like a CHB and a monster FF and we want to get them for Howard, Smith and possibly a 2nd rounder. No big deal :)
Smith + JJ to Essendon for Carlisle
Our first pick and a second round upgrade to GWS for Jonathon Patton
Howard to Central Districts for $20 and a box of jelly donuts.

My big thing is take people for what they are and exploit their strengths. Don't try and make them something they're not.
