Pardon the intrusion but I am involved in a phantom draft on the Eagles board and I have been picking for you.

I'm interested to see if I've done a good job or if I've dropped the ball entirely.

So far I have picked up Kelly, Hourigan and Thorp. If you ended up with these three in reality, how would you feel?

Also, have I missed a covering a major deficiency? I tried getting key forwards and avoiding inside mids.

Not a bad effort mate.

I'd be okay with that, but two key forwards is probably a little bit much. We also need a running half back and a tall defender (3rd tall is fine). If that's how the first three rounds went I'd personally be looking at Tom Vandeleur, Jake Kolodjashnij, Karl Amon or Nathan Drummond in the fourth round.

Thanks for dropping in mate, always like hearing about other peoples' mock drafts.

Discussion about the upcoming trade period has been spread over several threads lately, with the Rumour Mill turning deviating from it's intended purpose, and effectively becoming Trades and Delistings MKII.
So we're going to use this one now for discussion about our list and potential trades. Delistings will go in this thread, stuck at the top of the page.
If anyone strongly opposes this, let us know. The original threads will be closed, but we can always re-open them if everyone is against it.

Here are the last pages of both threads to keep discussion going. Feel free to quote from them.

Trades and Delistings - http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/list-management-trading-and-delistings.977120/page-719
Rumour Mill - http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/the-rumour-mill-2013-trade-and-draft-related.1030243/page-22

And yes, it is a sad, sad day that we are saying goodbye to the 719 page thread :p.

Don't have a problem with it but where do discussions of list balance etc go? I always saw the list management thread as a place to discuss the overall state of our list, what would make it better, whether our need for a half back linebreaker exceeded our need for a key forward, etc etc. It seems the new 'system' is focused solely around trades or delistings and this might end in more confusion for the mods and more split discussion than there was in the first place.

I also assume that free agency talk is intended to be discussed here?

Yes.

And good point. Will add List Management to the title.
Not intending to make a huge fuss or anything but to be honest I'm not quite sure I see the difference now; DW's thread is for confirmed delistings, so people will still post who they think should be delisted in this thread, along with trade discussion and list management. Isn't that basically the system we had previously? :p

i agree that the rumour thread was turning into another discussion thread but it was effective for me in checking for murmurs. Can people put their rumours in here and the murmurs of our draft intentions in the draft thread?

I feel lost. Like I've just been teleported into a different dimension.
Actually Igloo something weird did just happen. The email notifications I get ("Igloo just replied to a thread you are following") have just started coming with no content. It normally shows the text of the new post but now there is nothing but the header info. The first time it happened was when you closed the old threads but now it's happening with all notifications.

Is this a change of software or config at BF? (Sorry it's not exactly topical for this thread but it is part of the "new dimension" experience!)

It's mostly just for a fresh start. There were wires being crossed between each thread. We're not changing how the threads are. As I said, if the majority of people oppose it, we can go back to how it was. This is just to clean it up.

Yeah, that's fine.

That... I have no explanation for. Weird. If it continues, let me know, and I'll pass it on.

It did get a little messy but I think a proper rumour thread would be awesome if it worked properly, maybe if somebody is willing to do it we could just have a thread that no one is allowed to post in but the OP can edit it (don't know if this is even possible) because its nice to just be able to see all the actual rumours that are actually interesting (even if completely and utterly bullshit) without having to read through pages and pages of us idiots discussing crazy trades (not that theres anything wrong with that though, I love it :p, western bulldogs bf page is by far the best :thumbsu:)

I think we need three threads, which we have now:

Mega thread for tradings/delistings/free agents - This one

Mega thread for who we should draft in 2013 - The 2013 Draft Discussion

Informative thread that has confirmed delistings/trades - The sticky List Management - Known facts. It wouldn't be a bad idea to lock this thread, and a mod post just the known facts, to keep it clean.

This is going to work for about a week, before it spills over into the other threads :p

I don't think we'll get Patton, we don't have anything to offer which we would part with that they would take. I see a Mitch Brown (WC) situation happening. He'll be keen to come to a Melbourne club, but GWS want to hold onto him, and in the end they do hold onto him. Next year he comes out and decides to stay at GWS after a good year.

I think we're a monty to get Crameri though, and it's just a matter of working through some of the details, and waiting for trade week to come around.

Nice. Can't see it happening though.

Yes but - Higgins to half back (Cooney to mid), and Stringer to forward would be my change to that. I'd add Grant in too and have him rotating on the wing and Stringer (and maybe Crameri) also rotating through the mid.

Yeah I forgot about Grant. I would like one of Grant and Higgins to play half back next year. For a team that was so bad for most of the year it's a really hard team to pick.

What I think is most likely, so not including Patton.

Pick 4: Scharenberg
Pick 22: Crameri
(Not going to do the next few picks as I don't have any idea who we will take)

Talia------Roughead----Goodes
Higgins----Morris------Johannisen
Murphy----Griffen-----Cooney
Grant------Crameri----Dickson
Dahlhaus---Jones-------Gia
Minson------Libba-------Boyd

Wallis--Stevens--Picken--Macrae

Hunter, Stringer, Hrovat, Scharenberg, Campbell, Wood, Smith, Williams, Tutt, Young should all play games too.

Not bad, for if we could get a team like that out most weeks I'd back us to finish in the 8-11 range.

It's always hard to pick a team in the off-season. Wait until round 3 when we have 7 injuries and we've lost a couple of games.......we'll be bemoaning our lack of depth......:)
