It's always hard to pick a team in the off-season. Wait until round 3 when we have 7 injuries and we've lost a couple of games.......we'll be bemoaning our lack of depth......:)
Yeah that's always the way, I'm certainly more confident of our depth than twleve months ago. Which is a good thing.

What I think is most likely, so not including Patton.

Pick 4: Scharenberg
Pick 22: Crameri
(Not going to do the next few picks as I don't have any idea who we will take)

Talia------Roughead----Goodes
Higgins----Morris------Johannisen
Murphy----Griffen-----Cooney
Grant------Crameri----Dickson
Dahlhaus---Jones-------Gia
Minson------Libba-------Boyd

Wallis--Stevens--Picken--Macrae

Hunter, Stringer, Hrovat, Scharenberg, Campbell, Wood, Smith, Williams, Tutt, Young should all play games too.

Not bad, for if we could get a team like that out most weeks I'd back us to finish in the 8-11 range.
I don't mind that at all.

Would top it all off if we got Cam Conlon at pick 40, and added Willie Wheeler with our last pick.

It did get a little messy but I think a proper rumour thread would be awesome if it worked properly, maybe if somebody is willing to do it we could just have a thread that no one is allowed to post in but the OP can edit it (don't know if this is even possible) because its nice to just be able to see all the actual rumours that are actually interesting (even if completely and utterly bullshit) without having to read through pages and pages of us idiots discussing crazy trades (not that theres anything wrong with that though, I love it :p, western bulldogs bf page is by far the best :thumbsu:)
That was my intention and I think I had it updated pretty well. It just spun out of control.

If we can work it some way where there's no discussion at all, just a thread to keep track of things. I'm happy to update the OP with whatever rumours I find here or in the drafting thread. What do you reckon Igloo?

Best mates is a stretch, haha.

I do know probably a little more than the "average" person, but it's not exactly appropriate for me to go telling everybody things that were said in confidence (gee I sound like a journalist).

At this point I'd tell people not to get themselves excited, but not to brush aside the idea as fantasy.

I'm not sure which is better DW, help me out here.
That's a serious dilemma you have there. Maybe try sounding like a coach. Coaches are much higher in the pecking order than either journos or politicians:
Look, we're not taking anything for granted. We really respect them at the negotiating table. We just know we have to crack in with our best offer and play the cards the way we want to play them. We're taking this one negotiation at a time. What I can tell you is he is a quality person, the kind of young man we'd like at our club. I appeal to our fans to be patient. We will be active in the post season and if we keep doing things the right way, the results will start to come.

Nah the response didn't cover 2000 words and multiple paragraphs to reach the conclusion of "maybe".
Also without 81 mentions of Sydney & its proud culture & its 2 way hard running midfield & Mumford & Pyke being the best ruck duo of all time

It is a terrible deal 4,22 and Wood
for Patton and 11
It is effectively pick 4 plus for Patton - his had 6 knee reconstructions for heavens sake, he has the turning circle of Minson
I would rather the Crameri deal
