Regarding the Patton Deal

I would take Patton for Pick 4 and Wood in a heartbeat. People do their knee - its Footy. Doesn't mean he is going to have a knee problem for the rest of his career.

Don't GWS need to cut their list though? So really they are giving up 1 player and receiving 2..seems doubtful.

Regarding GWS and Buddy..

I just find it so strange that they would spend so much money on Franklin when their forward line is already going to be amazing with Cameron, Patton and Boyd. Should spend their money elsewhere. But in saying that - I hope it forces Patton out!!:)

The trade whispers article on the AFL website says that JJ is a name that has been thrown up to get the Crameri deal done, but it's just "speculation".

If we even consider that deal JMac should be shot.
It would just be speculation. This is how it went down:

Bomber: "Hey there's this promising young jet at the Dogs called Jason Johannisen, looks to be a 200 game player. Perhaps we should make a play for him?"

Dodoro: "BRILLIANT! We'll give them Gumbleton for JJ, Griffen, Libba and pick 4. This is a fair deal for all parties. Aren't I just the most amazing, handsome, talented man you've ever seen?"

They need a poster boy to get the crowd in. They were after a gun midfielder, but it seems there's no one that wants to go there.

I just saw that it was written by Jacqui Reed, so carry on, nothing to see here.

Is anyone else having trouble reading BF in the last two days. I am getting the BF logo as a non faint watermark behind every quoted piece making it impossible to read. Is it just me?
There've been a few issues with the site the last two days but that sounds like one that can be fixed on your end. If you clear your browser cache it should fix itself.

My source tells me Crameri was at the club again yesterday, I think he's coming to us.

He hasn't seen Patton, but that doesn't mean he wasn't there. Just reporting what he had seen.

If we get Crameri.. Then really all Addison will be at most is a depth player.
Very valuable depth. He can go back to the backline more permanently and shut down opposition small forwards. The team also has a few aging players in the backline who will be gone in a year or two at most.
As for playing up forward, Gia will probably miss a few games and there is no telling how Higgins will go with injuries. Same with Williams.

Will also depend on what happens if Wood gets traded.

Put it this way, Addison wouldn't exactly be demanding huge money, so having a player who is borderline best 22 (could be in or out depending on match ups), who is consistent, plays to the plan and can definitely hold his own at AFL level is better to have in the team than not.

I think Addison still has a role to play, but that said, what kind of compensation do you think we'd get? He'd be perfect for a side like Melbourne or GWS; can certainly see him getting picked up. Band four (end of second round) is what I'd expect - and that could be very valuable.

I agree with you completely. Love addo and the way he plays and think he is a solid soldier who does his job for the team. Really hope we keep him.

exactaly. Especially if we ain't offered anything great for him. Is great at depth and could be a real leader at the Footscray Bulldogs. Addison is so valuable to our team. It isn't about a best 22 anymore. Addison can fill a lot of gaps. Play back and forward. Hell, he could probably even tag a player if we needed one and picken and Wallis couldn't play.
Can still see him playing around 10 games for us.
10 for us and 12 for Footscray.

Can't see how Addo can bring us anything worthwhile on his own. I think Addo is almost the perfect depth player (the kind you want to keep, but as a barometer you don't necessarily want to see him in the 22). So unless he becomes a pivotal piece in a complex trade I'd be hanging on to him.

I agree mostly, but if freeing up money for a move at a player, I think addo is easily let go.
