We've gotten very very lucky on trades, Lobbe, Dawes, Bate were all almost dogs with us offering overs for them. Luckily another teams stupidity saved us each time

Boyd, biggs being big wins though I guess it doesn't matter if the others don't actually go through
Yeap, our trading hasn't been great. We've just been lucky that most of our targets didn't want to come to us. Can't see us winning this years premiership if we had:
Matthew Bate
Chris Dawes
Jesse White
Ricky Petterd
Levi Casboult
Daniel Merrett
Levi Greenwood
Mathew Lobbe
Jake Cokelisle (thankfully StKilda were dumb enough to overpay and not give us a look in, could of cost us the flag)

We also went after Sam Docherty - Which doesn't sound bad, except that the deal was pick 4 for pick 7 and Docherty. Which means Bont would be at Collingwood...Phew.

We could simply "pass" on 73 and be in front. God he's shit.
Ironically he may help snare us Cloke.

And that is great deal for us.

And that is saying something.

Cloke's manager was saying he spoke to JMac after the GF to re-confirm our interest. And we said we were very keen given how we were out marked up forward. Think he also said we haggling over fourth rounders to help Pies get their father sons.

Snippet from earlier today on an AFL site article stating we're one of the teams who are interested in Nankervis from the Swans.
Not new information but nice to have it confirmed.

I just hope we aren't into Motlop and if we are we keep our first rounder. We need to give Dal another crack at the first round this year, even if it is a later pick.

I've been in meetings most of the day so didn't hear (and I'm summing up quickly) but I heard on the weekend that Cloke's manager was very quick to confirm our interest when we won the GF. Luckily we have integrity.

The opportunity cost of NOT trading Talia for pick 73 would have been the list spot we used on Bailey Williams. We could have given the Swans pick 72 to get rid of Talia and we'd be well in front!

Player manager was remarkably honest - said his heart sank for Travis when we won but was quickly reassured by us. Also said Trav is currently sitting at home waiting by the phone like a kid before Christmas for the call that the deal is done.

If there is no-one else then for the price it's a no brainer I guess. Upgrade on Cordy.

Cloke takes Grundy during thr grand final which would allow our smalls and talls to separate them and get more marking options
Grundy doesn't dominate in the manner he did if we had Cloke this season.

I feel Cloke will also draw other defenders to come in 3rd man up (more so than any other permanent forward we have). Theoretically it should leave more space for Stringer, Dickson, Smith etc.

"Kicked 3 goals in the Grand Final last week, Crammers, and I'm being pensioned off already. Reckon you'll make it through to April 2017?"
What is it about Dickson that makes people continue to write him off year after year?
Is it the receding hairline?
You can't judge us on trades we didn't make, man.
This is Bigfooty, where if a poster has said we're into a player it's gospel regardless of what the club, the media or the player himself has said.

It's strange, apart from Cloke (a necessity due to a lack of KPFs in our list) I'm not stressed at all at all of these players nominating teams other than the dogs. Our list has a great mix of experience and youth...and Tom Boyd has another pre season :)

He might mean that we don't do much trading.
Nah, he basically said we've been excellent drafters but shitty traders, comparing our draft strategy as similar to Norf's (but obviously more successful). Urgh.

As another poster said, no one takes him seriously but still frustrating that his nonsense gets airtime.

I'm starting to realise list spots are the hidden variable in a lot of these equations - especially when you've got no obvious delist options because of a quality list.
