I don't understand what Hawthorn are thinking giving away your best player for very little. I don't get it from a cap perspective either Mitchell might only have a year left if they desperately needed cap room surely you would get rid a number of players before him. It's seems they've stuffed up by re signing all of the older players.

Let's discuss sensible trades then. Richmond will want overs and you have to move players out to get Delidio. He ain't a replacement for Hamling either.
Crameri returns to slot into zordy's role and you move zordy back to his correct position to cover hamling.

When you've just won the cup you add quality at whatever position you can.

Deledio is a legitimate scenario.

Big no for Deludio. Some of the trades getting done seem desperate and some are being well overpaid. Out biggest plus during the season was our depth so player retention has to be our number one goal especially with some of our players being so young. At this point if we bring in experience we probably need to delist Boyd,Morris or Murphy to make way rather than a young player and I obviously see no point in that. Let's not get excited that other teams are trading,we are the hunted now and our list is very strong, our list managers know what they're doing and they're doing an excellent job.
Why would we need to get rid of one of our three old guys if we got Deledio? We are a ridiculously young team.

If we get a pick in the 20s for Hamling, would certainly chuck it Geelong's way for Motlop, maybe with a shuffle of later picks. Gives a team with **** all currency a better chance of landing Delidio.
Yeah I'd do that. Imagine if anyone suggested Hamling for Motlop 12 months ago!

Do we throw our hat in the ring for Rockliff?

Bloke might come for a bit less money to have some success are years of getting belted off the park at the Lions.

Not exactly what we need but he is a seriously good player.

First Rounder plus something.

Tell me who he plays ahead of: Macrae, Libba, Bontempelli, Hunter, Daniel, Picken, Dahlhaus.

No chance we give a first rounder plus something for a guy that would be depth for us. And no chance we go for him when we just won a flag and we have no need for him.

I'd say the chances of us drafting him are at least a 3/10.

When you look at the big picture with hamling we've done a master stroke.

We've taken a delisted and basically worthless asset, seen his potential, won a premiership with his services, and will now probably turn him into a second round pick.

Not too bad for a year or two's work.
This is the view I look at too

I was worried we might not get much from Freo, but since they downgraded pick 3 for Mccarthy I'd take that GWS 2nd pick off them for him now

Cordy has a different skill set to Hamling.
More a replacement for Morris than Hamling. As does Crameri to Cordy.

Where are the players off the list? Far from legit. ATM 4 off Cloke and 3 picks

Overpaid and his metres gained are in the 40s.. ie cheap possessions whilst not doing anything with the football

Hawthorn; out Mitchell, in Vickery!!

Imagine the dogs trading out Murphy for Vickery.
Except for the fact that the whole comp loves Bob and everyone bar Hawthorn hates Mitchell...:p and that hes our skipper.

Hawks obviously building their midfield for the future now with JOM/T.Mitchell. Makes sense if their cap is really tight.
