I don't understand why Bev would anything but very interested. The addition of elite kicking skills will really help us if we are to gap other teams in contention. We absolutely butcher the ball by foot far too often. Deledio would be a massive upgrade in kicking skills on all our defenders and wings except Murphy.
Other defences would s### themselves with Bont and Stringer running out the back. and Crammers. Delidio and Murph delivering... Whewee.

This is also why I suggested a future first NaturalDisaster

Our draft currency could be better next year also, it makes sense on two fronts here. We know you guys would want to get back into the first round this year after trading away your future on Prestia but would pick 20-21 represent value this year?
if we get 18 off you guys it may be used (along with a player) in the Prestia deal seeing as we don't wanna trade pick six.

as long as GC accepts that of course :(

Had Deledio come out and nominated Geelong? Or was it just rumours?

If he comes out and says he wants to be a dog I'd back bev and jmac to get it done.

Could be just a horrible rumour but the thought of Murphy, JJ and Deledio off a flank is dream worthy.
Geez if we added Murph, Lids, Suckers to the finals side were gonna play some bloody nice football to watch. Wouldn't be surprised to see us change it up again and play a mixture between our 2015 and 2016 football (which IMO were quite different from each other)

Deledio is 30 next year, has one year left on his contract and is coming off an 11 game season. I would not be offering more than a second round pick.
This is my worry.

Played every game from 08-13, then his games tally reads:
2014: 19
2015: 18
2016: 11

I like Lids, I don't like the trend above and his age.

You don't have P50 or 40 this year do you?

Possibly next years third.

Depends on what Blues offer I suppose as it appears Hrovat is happy at either club.
I'd be going Carlton if I was Rat. Good coach club knows it is rebuilding and will give him games.

Unlike North who seem directionally in no mans land as a club and are heading for a serious cliff.

I still think Pick 18 and 39 for Deledio and 26 is fair.

OR

Pick 18, Hrovat and Pick 39 for Deledio and 26.
All parties would be fairly happy with this.

There are so many more options for them dealing with us than Geelong, who've wasted all their chips last season.

Deledio and Cloke... RIP our healthy age profile
We've just won a flag, who gives a f*** about list and age profile? That sort of talk is the talk of loser clubs who don't win flags as they cling to hope and talk themselves into thinking things are OK.

If we were serious about Lids would do it only for a future first

Take the first this year though
Why a future first? Unless we go back to back it'll be a better pick, and it's apparently a better draft and definitely stocked with talls. Sorry, that's just impatient thinking.

Hello again Premiers,

Came back to pick up Honeychurch.

If you can shove him out the back door I'll bring the car around. ;)
He'd actually be a pretty handy pick up for a team wanting a player who can come in and provide elite defensive pressure in the F50 (something I note Collingwood suck at, which is why they're chasing Mayne).

Honeychurch is much better than Tutt who walked for nothing so if you're interested, you're getting a decent player for very little cost. I don't imagine he has much currency.

It's a concern. I've heard he has a bad Achilles for the last two or three years.

Just have to back the medicos. You'd think they have recent experience in them with Suckling.

If he's not right then you'd hope we pass.

I hope GC doesn't bend you guys over like what they did for Dixon at Port last year. That was disgracefully greedy by them, he's not that good and was uncontracted also, very disappointed Port folded and played into GCs hands, Prestia has Injury issues, I'd draw it out if need be, I'd hold firm on 6 and that's it. They want any more than that then say PSD/ND etc.

Teams like GC and GWS asking mega overs for uncontracted players will unfairly raise the valuations of what a player is worth and they're just underrating the value of a draft pick, successful teams like Geelong and Hawthorn who have drafted well previously would rate a draft picks worth higher than these artificial mercenaries who have picks handed to them on a platter. We also won a flag from astute recruiting, we don't overrate picks and we use them wisely.

No problems with offering a first rounder, especially this year's. People forget that quality players can play well into their 30s, and Deledio will be no exception, especially if he can get his body right.

With that said, I believe we can't trade this year's pick because the rules state every club must use at least one first round pick every two years, and we traded our solitary first rounder last year. It's a shame because people are still undervaluing future picks, and ours is very likely to be better than this year's.

If the Tigers demand Honeychurch, then they'll need to throw in their 2nd/3rd along with it.

Why a future first? Unless we go back to back it'll be a better pick, and it's apparently a better draft and definitely stocked with talls. Sorry, that's just impatient thinking.
I agree with this, but the rules mean we have to keep this year's first.
