So we'll go into the off-season with these guys unsigned:

- campbell
- Stevens
- Jong
- hrovat
- clay
- Prudden
- hamling

With minson and adcock gone and roarke likely to be upgraded.

Not many main list guys get to the end of the season unsigned and stay. Gonna be a wild off-season imo.
Is there much interest in Koby around the league?

Reckon he's played his last game in RW&B, personally.

Campbell - sign up again
Stevens - TRADE - Stevens and 4th rounder for a 2nd rounder? GC? Brisbane?
Jong - TRADE - Jong and 4th rounder for Cloke and 2017 3rd?
Hrovat - KEEP - Can't afford to trade off so much mid depth in one year.
Clay - KEEP - Minimal value, and as above.
Prudden - DELIST
Hamling - KEEP
Minson - DELIST

Means we would go into the draft with pick 12, 22ish, and 30.

Keep Roarke as a rookie, rookie list an experienced back up ruck.

Anyone still thinking Hrovat and Jong gets us P4?????

to be honest I'd prefer GCs first two second round picks, maybe we'd throw something else in

Use a second round pick to get McKenzie, try to work on a deal to get Jack Riewoldt or for the mean time get Cloke.

Puts us in an okay position for next season.

We simply have to eliminate / reduce the number of dreadful kicks on our list then draft with a skill focus.

1. Trade our 4th and Clay for a 3rd
2. Trade a 3rd and Stevens for an early second (Bombers)
3. Jong to GC for a 2nd or package with a 3rd to Collingwood for a 2nd.
4. Fletch for a 4th to whoever wants him.
5. Hrovat and a 4th for a 2nd.

I reckon Jong and Hrovat might get us one early second. Don't see them fetching two.

P3 and Jong should get us P4
But what is Clayton going to do with pick 4 anyway. Is he not responsible for some, if not all, of Walsh, Grant and Cordy with first rounders. We'd be doing GC a favour. Perhaps Jongy could get us a swap of 4 for 12. It's all about tempting Richmond with first rounders to prise you know who. And then they'll waste them too so we'll win again with a second rounder that we'll develop into a first to sell back to them again when they realise they f'd up the rebuild...again.

Maybe you're right but I think for examples sake we add our second
I can't see GC taking 4-5 kids at the national draft
My only concern is other clubs could offer better..

I reckon we are better placed than any other club with our hard mid depth to do a deal. Jong is better than say Hallahan for instance. The beauty of our injuries means clubs have seen our guys fill adequate roles this year in the ones.

Oh and Boomer should be rookied - fills a massive skill gap and instantly makes us more flag competitive next year.

Do you think something should come back our way if we offered two firsts for Jack? Maybe Richmonds second, but it definitely is risky so we would want to nail our second rounders

I doubt the Tiges trade Jack unless the offer is ridiculously good. Not even sure 2 firsts outside the top 10 would do it for them. 2 top 10s probably would - probably maybe. Line ball for me if I'd pay that even if we had it.

I'm at a point of conceding we may have to settle for Cloke because there seems little else attainable. Don't see him helping us to a flag - just stop gap shit which is frustrating.

Any club trading two first round picks inside the top ten that is chasing a player that is only a few years away from been 30 with his lowest return since 2009 would have to be nuts and somehow I could see Richmond refusing that...idiots

I like this as a bargaining tactic. "Look, Scott. Let's face it, you're garbage at this drafting stuff so you might us well just give us your first rounder hey? You're only going to waste it."

At least the clubs with picks 5-18 will know he's picking a slightly built kid with poor decision making and who is easily pushed off the ball.

Still all in on Cloke on the cheap.
His game against Hawthorn did nothing to dissuade me. Was quite good.
I'm sold - not because Cloke is any good, but because we need to start using Toyd for the purpose we bought him in to the club.

Unless the club sees a Dean Cox mk2, I don't know why we keep insisting on using him as a back up ruckman.
