Hi guys, just curious (and sorry if this has been asked)

Why hasn't Hrovat cemented a place in your team? he was pretty highly rated going in to the draft? what players are keeping him out of the team?

Imagine that. Our genius with 18, 23 and 25. He could turn that into pure gold.
It would be a 12 pick upgrade for Koby and an 18 pick upgrade for Hrovat, plus we have 4th rounders for everyone. The club will be looking to execute something like that, but we're more likely to get the realistic option. If we get pick 50 for St Kilda we may look to swap that for a future pick.

I don't know if you know em but there's these guys called Bontempelli, Liberatore & Macrae that are just preventing him from cracking into the side... :D

1 - been injured a fair bit. Hasn't had a clear run at it and other players have moved past him.
2 - Yeah he was a slider
3 - Caleb Daniel, Toby McLean, Luke Dahlhaus...

He's slower and less skilled than wing half forwards like McLean and Daniel, nowhere near as good in stoppages as Jong, Dunkley and Clay and just not as good a player as anyone else in the team

+ he's a great kick of the football on the field and near the goals and makes decent decisions

- He's small, doesn't get enough of the football, and is constantly injured

The last two in the minus section are probably the main two reasons.

Thanks for that.

point 3. Caleb Daniel was the best thing that Liam Jones did for your club and to think what you would have done with the 2nd rounder your club wanted :D

Well he can't play midfield in a side that constantly thump teams week in week out in contested possessions. Has to play somewhere else.

Would be a midfielder at Carlton or North Melbourne.
if Jed Anderson is worth a first rounder... Imagine what they'd have gave for Hrovat

Yeah. Provided he is injury free he'll obviously get games at Carlton.
He would compliment Cripps pretty nicely.

Any way we could use Hrovat to pry Mason Wood across? Hrovat and 35? If we are committed to Cloke we don't have the list spot but God I'd love to find a way to do it!

Minno, Hamling, Hrovat and Stevens out that's all right? Need to draft 3 and Cloke makes for so that's probably that <sad face>

Still interested in WHERE Bevo was/is when he was not available to receive that award - possibly interstate? If so, which state?

Dale4captain , any sightings up your way?
My cousin works at the airport in customs and Sir Bevo went through the other day. Not sure where he was going

... or more to do with the fact he signed a three year contract only a couple of months ago at North.

Hrovat is a gun, no question. He is soooo underrated on this board.
I agree, but I think most people are just being realistic as to his value on the trade table. Put simply: he isn't a gun at the Dogs, and won't be able to break through into a crucial role. He deserves a second round pick, but what he has shown only warrants something in the 40s. He will improve with a change of scenery.

Ideal first receiver from Cripps. Makes good decisions and distributes well.
Led us in goal assists one year.
Good off field leadership. Which Carlton really need. Rather you guys get him than north.

Biggs is a massively under rated player. Have a look at some of his 3-4-5-6 efforts in the finals series, especially the GF. Lock for best 22.
Um, he's a good player and in our best 22. That passage of play in the GF last quarter was exceptional for never laying down, loved it, bevo made reference to it immediately post game with Richardson. Not in our best 22 for dress sense though..........

Bet ya we won't pick up Long. It rarely happens that impressive youngsters that play for your vfl team do get drafted by the club- especially with the dogs. Yeh people will mention the exceptions that prove the rule but I'm going with the odds here. Long won't be a dog next year

I thought Hamling said that money was the main reason. At the end of the day his family is still a long way from Perth.

In any case I'm sure we all wish him well.. except against us
