Strategy Trade and List Management thread 4 (Be sure to huddle around your transitor radio at 11 am Edition)

Is the Stringer situation beyond repair?

  • The club clearly want him out the door.

  • This was just a shot across Jakes bow as a means of motivating him.

  • The club is clearly a rabble. Sack Macca!

  • This is just the first play in massive trade that we are not yet privy to.

  • This is a game of blink and Jake and Conners just blinked.

  • Its time to move on a negotiate the best deal we can.

  • I felt sad for Jake on that stage today.

  • We've warned you about creating polls Norm!

  • The Jack 'Armageddon option' Watts option

So the clubs ask one of the few forwards capable of kicking a goal if he minds we move him on ?
Somewhat laughable the way I see it.

Not necessarily that ridiculous. He's clearly a super talent, but not realising that with us atm. A good offer could benefit us both. Personally I'd much rather he stayed and realised his potential with us - but i can see it being possible

Might be the kick up the arse he has needed

Lol and people think I talk Sh!t

Exit interviews were last week so IF the club was moronic enough to ask Jake if he was up for a trade it would be front page news by now. His manager would have leaked.

It more likely that Jake would ask for a trade if the saints or Norf had approached him with big money coz everyone else told them to faaaark off.

But in breaking news my cousins sisters dog told me we are trying to package Bont and Stringer to Geelong for Motlop and a late pick

Not if we got Tom Lynch in return right? Weren't GC into Stringer last year if I recall? They asked the question at least I was told.
The story was he won't leave Vic.
Terrible list management if true. Even if you might be open to it as a club you don't suggest you don't really want him him so bluntly.

Yeah Crameri not offered a contract, Cloke in doubt, Dickson on his last legs and Boyd still TBC. So let's trade Stringer and have only Redpath as a forward. I doubt it

Stringer asking us for a trade. That's possible

Happy if true but it would be strange during a finals campaign

After his last two years I would say that that was an honest question. If we get something similar in return I wouldn't not consider it.

Surely better ways of giving him a kick up the arse. If true we've essentially told him we don't really want him.
No, if true he was effectively told that no one is indispensable, and that just maybe his shit does stink.

Precious if that turns him off the club.

If true.

Disagree. I think it would be a huge shock to someone who loves the club and it would be extremely tough to process at first if true, especially in the heat of the moment. Do you expect him to just say 'oh yeah great that's okay, shop me around'?

Say what you want about his work ethic, but everything I've seen in the past says that he loves the club. We would be absolutely moronic to entertain the idea, given our most pressing list issues and even moreso when his value would be at the lowest it ever has been.

*Providing its true in any way.

Don't want to trade him either.

But not against the club putting a rocket up him. Being dropped plainly didn't work. If he won't work I don't care if he loves the club though I suspect he loves his comfortable lifestyle and his mates more.

Update.
Was informed that he would be put up for trade, and that he would only stay if nothing suitable offered. Told them to get #&£ked, and that he wanted out before he left meeting.
And it was today.

I laugh. Today some bullshit fb trade whisper page pops up in my feed with a poll on whether or not Stringer should be traded. I come to bigfooty and see that people are hearing 'whispers' that Jake Stringer is asking for a trade. A coincidence surely?

I have no idea if any of this is true, but if it is I'd have the exact same reaction as Stringer.
