Strategy Trade and List Management thread 4 (Be sure to huddle around your transitor radio at 11 am Edition)

Is the Stringer situation beyond repair?

  • The club clearly want him out the door.

  • This was just a shot across Jakes bow as a means of motivating him.

  • The club is clearly a rabble. Sack Macca!

  • This is just the first play in massive trade that we are not yet privy to.

  • This is a game of blink and Jake and Conners just blinked.

  • Its time to move on a negotiate the best deal we can.

  • I felt sad for Jake on that stage today.

  • We've warned you about creating polls Norm!

  • The Jack 'Armageddon option' Watts option

Club asked him if he's open to being traded. My mail is he's shattered, left the meeting angry and words were exchanged.
Is that the sort of thing every player would be asked though? Anything an happen during trade period and to have a firm yes/no answer from each player ahead of time would be beneficial.

Adding a 26 year old 153 game 197cm full back to our list would be very good. I understand he's no superstar, but 153 games would make Trengove the 4th most experienced player on our list. All for no pick, it sounds like a no brainer. He's the type of player we could turn into a very solid player.

The only player I would want if stringer left is tom lynch otherwise I wouldn't be interested in letting him go

We're the words exchanged "no thank you i love this club and would prefer to stay with my mates" and "no worries Jake, its something we ask everyone and we just wanted to make sure you are happy here, of course our preference is to keep you"

Weren't you sick to death of discussing the possibility of Stringer being traded? Seems you've changed your tune from 2 days ago.

He didn't when he went in....
Sorry but you are talking utter bullshit

The exit interviews were finished by last Friday for senior players not playing VFL so that their holidays started as early as possible. I believe Jakes was one of the earliest of the whole group as he is booked in for surgery in the next couple of weeks.

Dale Morris even confirmed this on SEN yesterday.

Dont get me wrong i have been so critical of jake of late, but this (and in the way it has been rumoured to have been carried out) is just ridiculously silly.

Mid to late next season is the perfect opportunity to make a long term assessment on Jakes role/place at the club.

I just hope that whilst many of us share so much disappointment about Jakes performance for the past season and a half (bearing in mind we thought Jake was the equal of Bontempelli) that we dont make a rash decision about this. If jake came to us and requested a trade and we were able to find a very very enticing deal then you would consider it but we need to give him the opportunity to make amends and he certainly isnt alone on that front.

If J Mac has done it this way then we seriously need to re consider our list management team.

Trengove is the type of forward/back/ruck utility that would give us enormous flexibility. He fills a need and that's what we want isn't it?

Don't through the kitchen sink at him, just be smart about it.

Here's me thinking the Stringer trade talk was over....silly season is in full swing!

If you're reading this nonsense Jake..I got ya back!

I'll weigh in on the Trengove talk again, he is more than worth having on the list.

  • No he won't stop Buddy, only Buddy stops Buddy.
  • He does not have elite speed, do you think that bothers Crows about Talia?
  • He can defend one on one and clear the zone without using a torpedo into the middle of the ground.
  • Gorilla's don't see him as an easy target I can assure you that.

He's no superstar but he can stop a superstar or two...and that's good enough for me.

May have been mentioned before from one of the PA posters that his motivation to move is not dollars based unlike other kpd we have chased.
