Strategy Trade and List Management thread 4 (Be sure to huddle around your transitor radio at 11 am Edition)

Is the Stringer situation beyond repair?

  • The club clearly want him out the door.

  • This was just a shot across Jakes bow as a means of motivating him.

  • The club is clearly a rabble. Sack Macca!

  • This is just the first play in massive trade that we are not yet privy to.

  • This is a game of blink and Jake and Conners just blinked.

  • Its time to move on a negotiate the best deal we can.

  • I felt sad for Jake on that stage today.

  • We've warned you about creating polls Norm!

  • The Jack 'Armageddon option' Watts option

So Stevo works for Ch7...and Ch9 pays the bills at The Footy Show...

Surely they both wouldn't be trying to out hype each other to get ratings at Jake's expense...the media are usually such upstanding business types with no hidden agendas.....

I'd seriously rather lose Jake to the PSD next year than trade him to that sh!tcan football club Norf

The only problem with that being is Norf are a big chance to finish last again and get that first pick

If Bevo is giving Jake a rocket to make him wake up and start committing more then the warning shot needs to appear 100% real otherwise it won't have the desired effect and change his behavior. The only person that knows exactly what is happening is Bevo. I'm hoping he's dishing out the home truths to Jake and he doesn't spit the dummy. He's got to take honest feedback like a man. Take it on board and work on himself.
There's little doubt that Jake could be one of our greatest ever players. Let's hope he has the mental fortitude to commit, train hard and be that player for us.

IF Jake is going then North are the perfect place from our perspective. Pick 4 is about right, and him going there isn't going to make another contender stronger. They'll be down for a few years yet. We HAVE to bring in some experienced players to replace him though. I feel dirty, but if we could get Watts for a second I'd do it. Toyd, Adams and Watts up forward, with Dahl, Dale, Dickson, Bont, Maclean and a speedy crumber running through there could end up an effective forward line. No big 50 goal forward, but I would back us to have 5 guys with 30 from that bunch.

That's just stupid. Never understand that logic, some Crows fans said same thing about Lever. Dogs must absolute maximise any potential trade benefit, or we may as well just shut the doors and throw away the key. You do not give away a Stringer type for free.

I didn't say that's what we will do

I said that's what I would do coz I hate Norf that much.

Who plays full back if Adams goes forward?

Jake's value at all time low (because perception) and Ben Brown's at an all time high...... I know he's not a glamour forward but he fits the bill...

They wouldn't give Ben Brown up for all the rice in China. Are you serious? That's ALL the value that shitcan club has on its list. THE only player worth anything.

Yeah I know mate, but do we really want a player that doesn't want to be there?
Jake hasn't said he wants to leave

The club have apparently told him they will consider trading him so at the moment its alll media hype

Until I hear the club or Jake say they want out I think it all cheat beating and Norf trying to disrupt us. P!ssant little club should go to the vfl and be mid table there

Best case scenario: It's all been a bit of a beat up, Jake and the club work it out and he re-signs.

Second-best case scenario: We trade him for North's or Carlton's 2018 1st and they finish bottom 5 again.

Worst-case scenario: He demands a trade to Geelong, and the club are afraid of losing him for nothing next year so accept their 1st + steak knives.

I'm hearing this through someone else who spoke to a family member of one of the Dogs players Jake is very tight with. So hearing this second hand so don't shoot the messenger:

In jakes mind (unless there is a significant turn around) he is gone. He hasn't taken it well and not in a great head space

Will be Geelong or Essendon

Confirmed Beveridge is the one driving it

The players are filthy at Mitch Wallis for his comments.

Our only saving grace is that trade week is still 5 weeks away so there is time to kiss and make up.
