Strategy Trade and List Management thread 4 (Be sure to huddle around your transitor radio at 11 am Edition)

Is the Stringer situation beyond repair?

  • The club clearly want him out the door.

  • This was just a shot across Jakes bow as a means of motivating him.

  • The club is clearly a rabble. Sack Macca!

  • This is just the first play in massive trade that we are not yet privy to.

  • This is a game of blink and Jake and Conners just blinked.

  • Its time to move on a negotiate the best deal we can.

  • I felt sad for Jake on that stage today.

  • We've warned you about creating polls Norm!

  • The Jack 'Armageddon option' Watts option

His junior football club was the East Brighton Vampires which
is a fair commute from Maryborough, now that is committed
parents.
Are we talking about Stringer or Kelly? I've lost track of the multiple conversations :(

Are you talking Kelly or Crameri?
Or Crameri???

Edit: Crammers is from Maryborough, Stringer from Bendigo (although was in Maryborough earlier iirc) and Kelly...? So who's bought the house, Kelly?

Many here believed that 2017 was an anomaly and it'd be back to business as usual in 2018.

But I believe a seismic shift in playing group / off field personnel is necessary if we are to really become a significant force again.

It's like we need a new spirit, a new way, a different togetherness after what we achieved in 2016.

We do not want the group to turn up in 2018 with the same inability to win the big moments and same fatiguing and lack of intensity for the full 4 quarters.

I believe a circuit breaker is needed. Sometimes big decisions have to be made. And with that comes risks.

Moving on a champion is one way. Another is for the player to have a complete change in the way they go about football.

None of us want to see Stringer blossom and flower at another club, but neither do we want him to continue his current output any longer.

Holding onto the idea that said champion player with outstanding potential will come good for us is fine in theory but what if he doesn't?

And now is the time to do the deal. Because we may well end up with very much less if he walks in 12 months.

To get an A grader to the club you normally have to give up an A grader (unless uncontracted)

IF there is a potential champion player not playing to his ability and not taking seriously enough the need to get the absolute best out of himself through sheer hard work and professional development, then I think the club would be negligent in not considering options on how to improve our list.

I desperately hope Stringer stays and takes up the challenge to drive the group to new and higher levels. It's someone like him who can be a leader and who can mould the younger players to be better people and players.

He can be a truly great influence if he chooses to be.

Am i the only one who enjoys the hyperbolic reactions, It's very entertaining and really its human natute to speculate, as long as people aren't being abusive or personal i dont see a problem with it.
Personally don't want stringer to go, but would make for an exciting trade period and i wont be throwing a tantrun if we do, that said my biggest concern is he is very popular with young suppprters.

Has a differing opinion = troll.

Just here to have a chat with some like minded posters.
Maybe stick to your own vege patch m8. After the first couple of posts it's become apparent that you are actually quite a limited, repetitive and boring poster.

Look at the crows
Lost tippet. Davis. Gunston. Danger
And competing for flags for the last 3 yrs

Lose stinger. No big deal. Replace him and move on
You are right. Crows didn't rest on their laurels. They have replaced these guys with Betts Lynch Jenkins Jacobs and have drafted in Crouch x 2, Greenwood, Talia, Lever etc.
