Strategy Trade and List Management thread 4 (Be sure to huddle around your transitor radio at 11 am Edition)

Is the Stringer situation beyond repair?

  • The club clearly want him out the door.

  • This was just a shot across Jakes bow as a means of motivating him.

  • The club is clearly a rabble. Sack Macca!

  • This is just the first play in massive trade that we are not yet privy to.

  • This is a game of blink and Jake and Conners just blinked.

  • Its time to move on a negotiate the best deal we can.

  • I felt sad for Jake on that stage today.

  • We've warned you about creating polls Norm!

  • The Jack 'Armageddon option' Watts option

Is Sam weiderman able to be pried free. Been in the VFL most of the year and Melbournes tall forward stocks look deep.

Worth a crack!
Dees rate him extremely highly so unless we plan to off load a first rounder, nope

So we advocate Roughy as our number 1 tall forward next year in this scenario.

I'm officially crawling up and cuddling with this guy if it actually happens next season.... :)

Ha, i would feel the same if Roughy is our #1 tall forward!

What i was saying is that our playing 22 structure should be 2 tall players (excluding defenders).

1 x ruck that rests forward - Roughy, English
1 x forward that can ruck - Cloke, ?

Tom Boyd could be either role.

I don't think our structure or style really suits more than 2 of those types.

Red doesn't fit there, and doesn't put on defensive pressure either...

What about Tom Nicholls we had a crack a couple of years ago if I remember rightly. Oh and I will say Allir Allir again because yet again he has been left out of the swans team.

Couple of things and these are not loaded as I don't know.

Jasper Pittard is a better player than I thought he was and would suit us.

I'm a Levi Casboult fan as I think his marking is elite HOWEVER if he can't be amazing at Carlton I doubt he would be with us.

Lever is a superstar. He suits us perfectly.

We don't need leg speed, we need good skilled players who can lower their eyes going into 50. The difference between Dahlhaus and Bontempelli kicking the footy is night and day. Kelly would be great but there must be other players out there who can kick the footy well.

I actually thought the beep test was getting phased out due to inaccuracy. People slipping on the turns and ways of cheating it. The yoyo test has been ascertained as more reliable and is being used far more these days.
Yeah it is getting phased out, but the beep still tells you a fair bit. I have about 5 years worth of data from the draft combine and I can tell you no player in the vicinity of a level 10 beep has made it with the data I have. In fact, nearly all of them never lasted more then 2 years on an AFL list. Allirr Allirr is the best of the worst and he has an 11.10 beep test. It seems these days if your not getting near a level 12 beep test you're in a bit of trouble.
