So we are basically giving away aforst rounder for skid that struggled to get a game for the bottom team but accepting a late first rounder for a 22 year old AA ?

Going backwards at warp speed
Reports now that essendope's first rounder is too much and they won't part with it but we will still trade

You know he was only dropped last year once
You know even this year he is our leading goal kicker
You know with his first 8 of 16 games this season he was heading for 50 plus goal year.

So one way of looking at it is that he has had an 8 game slump! After some family issues! In a year the whole team aside from 5-6 had a form slump following our premiership.

You are obsessed and determined for us to accept trading him for unders and are working hard on this board to set expectations that it is reasonable to accept 11-20 - when it's unwashed BS

And why you feel it's necessary to groom us daily into accepting crap for him is beyond me.

Do you honestly believe we have already seen Stringers best season?
And how is it he managed an AA year and 56 goals at 21 when he has such a crap attitude.

This idea of trading Stringer reminds me of the Bernie Quinlan trade. And how well did that go? Ostensibly it was for money and we had to for us to survive but if we appreciated what he was capable of it never would have happened.

Bernie also looked lazy when he was young. A lot of players take time to find their best. For others it comes too easy and sets them off the rails for a bit.

I claim shenanigans!
I believe we will be a better team going forward without Jake Stringer. I don't care for his individual highlights, I want consistent boring football.
His best season when he was All-Australian, he was young and probably didn't get the attention that he does now. He hasn't dealt with the attention since.
If you believe we will get a high pick for him that's great. I hope we do too. But I am more a half glass empty kind of person and have seen our trading efforts in previous years to be convinced otherwise.
By the way I am not grooming you for anything. You aren't making the deal, either am I. But I can see massive meltdowns when the trade finally occurs. I'm happy to not mention it again, but on the flipside don't you whine and moan later on if the deal doesn't meet your high expectations.

Duh.

I was just saying I thought he said late first not late second.
He did. However, I expect a little bit of sense from these shows not complete bias. Originally Watson saying he was worth a late 2nd, early 3rd. I knew he was being facetious, but I didn't find it funny when we know that Dud will try to low ball us. This is all a bit close to the bone for us Dogs supporters and I, for one, don't find it funny

Better not read the stringer trade thread then

Kid is highly rated. Just doesn't wanna be in QLD at all.
So we sack one bloke for not putting in when he has issues but bring another one in coz he has sooked it up having to play footy in QLD??

Oh no what an awful thing to have to do. Live in the sun and play footy must have been a nightmare.

Honestly does anyone see the hypocrisy in this???

Watson just there with his Essendon hat firmly on, obviously not a sign of impartiality.

Meanwhile McLure says "the club doesn't have the right to say what deal they'll make when they come out and say he's on the trade table". Darcy said because he's got a contract. It dilutes his value McLure replies.

I don't know why the rest of them tolerate him.
I reckon the cool kids beat the shite out of McLure in the school yard.

The only reason Jake is nominating Essendon as his preferred club is because no other club showed interest in him IMO. Talk of Geelong was BS.

Now it's the club turn to tell Jake and Essendon what our preferred deal is or Jake can watch grass grow in 2018 and Essendon can get stuffed.

People in the industry say Essendon and Dodo are the worst to deal with so Dogs you have been warned.

I think everyone is hoping we show some balls for a change.

Real opportunity here to show some balls especially when we have a player contracted and an opportunity for Jake to see exactly where he sits in the football world.

May turn out to be a humbling experience for him which is not a bad thing.

Or more likely a screwing experience for us

I love this club but we have gone so far backwards in 12 months its laughable.

And Bev has a lot of questions to answer coz he and he alone of the reason Jake is leaving and if we go backwards and Jake shines then what will people say then?

This thread makes me want to gouge my ******* eyes out with an aids infected spoon ffs. Us providing salary cap relief to norf for doing us the favour of downgrading their 4 to 9 for Stringer? Us having to sweeten the deal for a straight swap of Mason Wood?

Shut. The. ****. Up

Gonna have to let yourself down gently doggies. Strings has let the club down badly, and we're not going to get value for him. It is what it is.

So now we just cop it in the a$$ coz he let the club down?

Didn't let us down badly enough to play against Port and would have played against the Hawks if fit

But no let's just use a bloke that has apparently done something so bad and then let's publicly tell eveyone how shot he has been and lose any value we had.

We have been and still are an amateur outfit that pinched a flag last year and had no idea how to deal with it

What would even up a Jake Stringer - Mason Wood trade. I think north would require topping up at the moment if I put an unbiased hat on and imagine the trade as a supporter on either side. Makes Jakes value proposition trickier. Would any on here do a direct swop if Wood was our guy and Stringer was theirs and Stringer wanted to come to us with the supposed issues vs none with Mason (that are public anyway)? It's an interesting thought.
I would. Without any doubt
We would need to sweeten that deal considerably. Wood is a required player for them. Would have to do Stringer +9 for them to even entertain it.
I am staggered at suggestions that we would be the ones needing to sweeten the deal in a Stringer for Wood trade.

Wood is older then Stringer, very injury prone, has kicked 130 goals less and even in 2017 when Stringer was poor, Stringer averaged more goals and disposals. In what stratosphere is Woods value higher? I'll spew up if we trade him for Wood.
