There’s been whispers all year that Pies will trade Sydney’s first (via Moore) and their first for May. Was all just depending on if they landed Lynch or Richmond/Hawks did.

Smith for another season is a good move, as been said before he has played almost at every opportunity when fit, so brings something that the coaches want.

He is very good when right at intercepting and closing down his player. Gets his body right, he has great upside.

Doubt Dahl news comes out. He’s going to the cats but they’re in finals. Probably won’t hear anything official on the Dahl front until geelong are out of contention I reckon. Same goes for Roughy and wherever he’s headed. Possibly an announcement from a club that both are exploring free agency.
Fair enough, and good point about the timings, thanks. Really hoping it's just those two (not that I'm keen to lose either), losing Wallis on top of that would suck, and God help us if there's anyone else looking to leave...

Surely Libba stays put. And hopefully any Wallis related news is that we've agreed to terms for a new contract.

I said weeks ago Wallis wants out and I’ve heard nothing that Ganges that opinion

Libbas name has been about again I think because we have given him a pretty low offer. I’d be surprised if he leaves BUT someone may outbid is by a fair way and then who knows

Wallis wants out because of opportunity, money or both?

Be hard to justify over bidding for a player that’s done 2 ACL’s and been found on King St in a pretty poor state with something in his pocket he shouldn’t have. I’m confident Libba will stay. Offer him a short term deal, low cash but decent triggers. I’m nervous about Wal, but think he’ll stay.

Schache was a Hail Mary desperate late call to cover up the Stringer debacle.

Griff and Higgins wanted out, Cooney was done and Jake was pushed out.

Sorry mate we can pretend we controlled all of what you say but we really didn’t.

Dahl leaves, Wally possibly leaves and we will do very little if history is a reliable source

They are all decisions made well before the trade period not panic plays as some people see them... I get the feeling our staff do more than just let players go and try to cover up bad trades by bringing in young players. We tried to get schache in before the end of the trade period but the pick swap we wanted took time.

Not saying we should just let the FA's walk (I dont think we will) but I believe in the club to make the right judgement on their value if they choose to go elsewhere.

I've heard Wallis wants to stay. Would take a big offer to get him to move, but who knows.

Don't understand why we are being so stingy with our offers. Not like we have cap problems.

I think it started as opportunity then he was offered a fair bit more than we have

Seems we are lowballing everyone so at least we are consistent

What frustrates the hell out of me is that we won a premiership two years ago. We have the best under 22 year old in the competition who will be a future captain, we have a coach who is respected outside our club, even Clarko mentioned Bevo in passing tonight, and yet we can’t seem to sort out our premiership players and attract decent talent. Why, I don’t get it. I mean players wanting to go to Carlton, Carlton who only won two games this year!!!

It has to be the return of the brown paper bags, or business connections I.e. Nathan Brown, Richmond style.

Anyway rant over.

There’s a lot of “sources” around this time of year so I suppose unless I name who mine are, I’m no different to the others.
But let me assure you, Wallis did not want to go, has an offer and needs to decide if it’s a lowball and go for a bigger offer.
Libba has NOT been offered a contract ( at least not as late as last week) and was awaiting for the club to table one. I can’t confirm if this hasn’t been done this week during / after the exit interviews.

Looks like I’m only 1 ACL behind.
