I hear you, but the mods have a tough enough job dealing with stupidity without spending all day as quality Auditors...

90% of this forum is people arguing over irrelevant shit. I'm fine with speculation and discussion, but would be nice to ban the people who post dumb rumours and present them as truth, derail threads by starting arguments, or write comments that contribute absolutely nothing to the conversation. Nothing wrong with asking the pros/cons of trading for Player X. Really ****ing annoying though when people say shit like "Dogs have already locked in Josh Kelly, Mitch McGovern will nominate Bulldogs as his club of choice, etc." with absolutely no ****ing proof whatsoever, yet still get likes and responses

Can’t believe David swallow is only 25 feels like he has been around forever. Any interest in him or Will Brodie ?

This is just my opinion. But swallow isn't the type of player we need to be looking at. He is a bog standard hard nut with little speed and questionable disposal. We have plenty of that type already, what we need is breakaway speed, good kicking skills and someone who finishes off the work that our inside mids create.
He also like Hannebery seems to have a lot of miles on the clock....a bit battered.

*Assuming Campbell and Adams leave and Liberatore and Wallis stay, which I think are most likely right now.

Losing a lot of experience this off season, which is why I’m still disappointed we let Dahlhaus walk.

Bevo did talk confidently about us bringing in experience so I reckon some trades have probably been (tentatively) lined up.

As an example (no idea yet if it's really going to happen) the Jarryd Roughead rumour would fit that bill quite well, especially with Bevo's past association with the Hawks. But there could be others.

I do agree, but I don't have anything better to do on the train on the way home...and it's what this forum is for...

Lynch to Richmond means they need to cut the wage bill so Riewoldt goes to Hawthorn which means the Hawks let Roughead go to come to us.

I have no proof whatsoever, it just seemed like a plausible move over a coffee today with a colleague at work.

So 9 players left 25+, which includes:
* A 36yo Morris, who is injury prone
* Liam Picken who won't have played for 18 months
* Tory Dickson who has been dropped on form in the last year, and has played 17 games in 2 years
* Matty Suckling who has a chronic Achilles injury and missed the last 11 games.
* Easton Wood who is injury prone, only played 12 games this year, and arguably has been out of form for over a year.
* Jackson Trengove - the exception, now clear best 22
* Tom Liberatore - coming back from a knee, and still OOC. Been out of form for a while too.
* Mitch Wallis - OOC and has a lot of interest elsewhere. Dropped this year, but entrenched himself in the best 22
* JJ - Down on form at the start of the year, but came back strong.

We are in real trouble with that list make up, and there's a good chance we could be playing a lot of games with only 3-4 25+ year olds in it.

Lloyd looks like he will come in, which mitigates the issues with Dickson. I'm hoping for Roughy too as he will be low cost in terms of picks to get him. We really need another good, senior (25+), clear best 22 player though. Preferably 2.

McGovern would be great for around 600k. Has the same sort of vibe that Gunston did when he left Adelaide. Would only pay pick 15-20 for him though. Nice second/third option in the forward line.

Roughead as a stopgap is literally perfect. Bev should be moving heaven and earth to make this happen. We need leaders and they don't come much better than Roughy. Bonus is he's an expert at forward craft and can take a nice mark on the lead from the square. I don't see a negative if we take him on. Even if he's injured the entire time, he's an asset for Schache and Boyd to draw from.

Shiel is perfect for our midfield. Pick 7 and a fringe player (Honey??? They had a crack at convincing him to head there 2 years ago). Powerful, neat kick and can take his turn on the inside when needed but plays well off the pack.

I don't think we need to pick up any kids early in the draft in all honesty. We're so young and already have the guarantee of West and Buku. Let's finally add some experience and grunt.

This is a good article - much of the Wallis angst from what I'm hearing is about his role rather than salary. He loves the Bulldogs but we want him to play forward more (which he excelled at) and he want's to play midfield which, frankly, I'm not sure he's even in our second rotation given Williams looks good in there and Dunkley's last month or so was excellent.

Agree. And looking even just a little further ahead, how long will it be before his lack of pace in the forward line is exposed as the opposition look to run it out of their D50 (a looming factor if we decide to tend tall forward at any stage). If the Lions are offering him good money and his preferred midfield time, he's likely to see more game time with them than he will with us I'd speculate.

Not convinced Adams leaves. We are hearing the same kind of chat we have heard about him in the past, similar to JJ as well. Classic case of WA boy at Vic club, he must want to go home.

Would generally agree except his cousin posts on here who is a reliable poster. Obviously a trade would need to be worked out but sounded certain it's what Adam's wants and there was more to the reason than just WA factor.

Pick seven is overs for Jack Steven imo. The bloke is going to be 29 when the first bounce of 2019 happens. I'd want someone else thrown in. Not sure we'd get Gresh but I'd be asking the question.
