How anyone can complain about using pick 68 is baffling.. it would be used to upgrade our rookies so is a freebie.

At least Loyd was first in line at RICHMOND as opposed to Hall who couldn't get a game for GOLD COAST
Lloyd couldn’t get a game at Richmond.
Hall could get a game for GCS.
Your post is factually incorrect. Do some research next time.

I dont understand how this point thing works. Obviously you cant package up picks from rounds 4+5+6 to pay for a high profile recruit.

How many low picks can you add together to get a higher number? at what point does it 'cut off' or whatever?

Like, imagine we traded a round 2 pick for someone elses two round 3s and two round 4s - could we then package up our own shit picks as well to get west with three rounds 3s and three round 4s? a total of six shit picks? (assuming the numbers add up)

Or does it basically just come down to the fact that all the shit picks in the world wont add up to a big number, so its self limiting?
You can only use as many picks as you have list spots available.
We have a bonus in that we have two rookies to elevate so we have two extra picks to use for points.
We can elevate Gowers and Lynch with picks 200 & 220 if we want

How do people here rate the trade radio segments? Like in order from best to worse? Choosing from the following:

Kane Cornes & Matthew Lloyd
Sam McClure & Nick Dal Santo
Tristan Foenander, Jimmy Bartel & Callum Twomey
Damien Barratt & Terry Wallace
Jack Heverin & Matt Thompson
Sam McClure & Brent Harvey
Harvey gives the best IMO

Aaron Hall for 68 is a ******* steal. Criminal by the Roos.
What the hell are Gold Coast doing?
Hall is incredibly overrated, don't rate him at all. In regards to the pick, Gold Coast are only planning on using their first 5/6 selections which will all be under 30.

Just a token exchange to get the player to where he wants to go. Nothing more, nothing less.

He got injured in round 11 and was out for the season. However, prior to that he was dropped after round 4 and only played 6 of the first 11 games.

Through injury. Jesus mate, have a look at the respective players...

You shoot at the hip with factually incorrect nonsense aggressively. Poor form.
i'm not referring to only this year.

He has always been in and out of that side because he runs one way and puts in no defensive effort.

Pick 68 is still a good deal for North but that also shows how little he was wanted. I don't agree that he is a better player than Loyd but you are obciously entitled to your own view

In a nutshell, you have to use the next available pick after a bid.
If the points value of the pick you use is insufficient, the next pick you hold is used, then the next one, etc etc.

As a result of GWS being clever a few years ago, you can only use picks you hold that correspond to free list spots e.g. you can't trade away a round 1 pick for 12 round 4 picks to use on a bid if you only have 3 free spots available on your list.

Its why I wouldn't be averse to trading away pick 27 for mature talent, then trading Adams for pick 32 + change. We have plenty of spots free to use a second and a bunch of third/fourth rounders to cover West and Khamis, especially taking into consideration our rookie upgrades can be completed with picks that hold no points value (anything above pick 73).

Great news about the Hawks giving up their future third rounder.
The Scully trade was originally for that pick....

LittleG is really hopefully it's Scully to the Dogs!!!!

I wasn’t, I was comparing Lloyd to Hall.

Hall probably demanded a higher salary though so this should be factored into a comparison.
Being 23rd player at Richmond is a hell of a lot different to being in and out of the Gold Coast side.

Hall will fizzle out.
