I’m against getting May to be honest. Cordy and Naughton are my quality KPDs for 10 years. I’d be okay picking up some cheaper KPD as insurance but not at the expense of nearly $1 million in cap space and pick 7.

Midfield speed and forward is where I want those resources to go.

Is May a real need for us right now for the cost of pick 7 especially if Adams stays? He’d be pushing 30 by the time our list is looking to compete.

I was definitely one for needing the right experienced player for pick 7 but I’m just not sure he’s it at that price. Go to the draft now.

Gws salary dump or is McCartney having an impact ! ? !

He has either inherited a basket case or turned it into one.
- he signs Finlayson and then tries shopping him around 3 months later
- Scully wants out
- Lobb wants out
- the young pick 5 wants to Carlton
- Shiel is out

If he doesn’t hold onto Kelly next year wow - horrible start to a new job
Just imagine if we still had him at our club.

This is how I see it too. I'd rather Bailey Smith for 10+ years than Steven May (on massive $) for 5 years. I absolutely believe we need to add experience to the list but it has to be in the right areas. Unconvinced that a KPD is where we should focus our resources

I agree - with Trengove as cover, Young and Morris to play on the mid/talls. Khamis can develop but will become an intercept type too to help us in the air.

We seem set to keep pick 7 and Ben King may well be the best available at that pick anyway.

We only look there if Adams goes imo

I think some sort of KPP should replace Adams, forward or back

As I correctly predicted several weeks ago, and wrote at the time on this piece of paper I am holding up, Bulldogs and Chad are not a match. I also wrote that as with anyone new to a role, Sam Power must be given time, space, and something to focus his eyes on during interviews, I am all out of Cranberry and Coconut WeetBix, and to delete those photos of Scra... uh, never mind about that last one...

TBH I'm a little mystified we weren't tied to Mitch McGovern when he was gettable. He seems the type that would suit us perfectly.
Yeah he made more sense at his age for us I thought.

Plus he’s versatile, and the exact sort of player Beveridge could get the best out of.

Because Mitch isn't that good. People see the surname and figure that he's just as good as Jeremy.

Still don't get the hate for Hawthorn

Their a successful club, took their chances. If we were like Hawthorn, I bet nobody here would be complaining

True but the supposed treatment of Burton and Roughead wouldn’t sit well with me. Maybe I’m just too nice.

If Adams goes I'd send 7 to GC for May and something coming back to us, if possible.

Morris should be only a backup at 36, Cordy is middling 1v1 and I suspect he and Young (who's far worse 1v1) will get exposed a bit with the new rules, if they get isolated more.

We got absolutely thrashed in 1v1s inside D50 this year.

Plant May on the best KPF and let Naughton and Cordy take a second tall or sweep up.

I still think he gets to Melbourne for pick 5 after Neale/Hogan go through.

It’s not the club itself.

It is their dickhead supporters.

Not as bad as media make it out to be. Not saying I agree with it 100% though

Their dickhead supporters have a right to feel a bit cocky. The club is in a position to allow them to be cocky.
