Fisher News has come from the Herald Sun, check the Superfooty site, on there now. We approached Carlton and they said nope he's not leaving so looks open and shut.

Interesting that there’s no talk one way or the other on our potential trades. Maybe no news is good news?

The only way to describe my trade week vibe is that I feel like I'm in grade three playing a combination of Musical Chairs and Heads-down, Thumbs-Up.

Basically I have no idea what's going on, there's lots of noise, and I'm scared I'm going to be the last person standing when the music stops....

All this back and forth over these simple trades. Prob will be the same offer that was thrown out day 1 will get agreed to 5 mins to go on the last day

Most boring four days of trade week that I can remember
The first few days are always boring. This period isn't for the fans, next week is.
This week is like the old days when those keen would watch a reserves match,or even going to a gig to see all the support bands because you dig music.

What bloody pick(s) do we have that could have been used realistically for Fisher? 21 YO, taken pick 27, looks like great value (a la McLean), if they were to consider it, the Blues would want something much better than 27 now he is a proven player. We have nothing between 32 and 13 and they have nothing to split 13 coming back. Must have been a complicated offer involving 2020 picks?

Also, agree with others, we don't need another small mid.

Disagree. He's a pure winger, which we are not abundant in. Would take Hayes spot no problem.

Hayes doesn't own the other wing, he was lucky to beat some others at selection and there were injuries. E.g., Bailey Williams, Caleb Daniel, Lin Jong, Tom Liberatore, etc. We are chockers with small to medium mids/wingers.

Sam Simpson is the son of former cat Sean Simpson who played 114 Games between 1991-1998, a player
type would be the great Declan Hamilton who was Jarman related or Jason Tutt two types who could fit
into our forward half and provide Bevo with mucho flexibility.
Sean used to drive delivery trucks to my work place. Very nice bloke who I've had numerous football conversations with. I remember the excitement when Sam was likely to be drafted by the Cats. Sam occupied him on a couple of those runs. Always been a small guy, but quick and mobile. Unfortunately lack of spaces on the Cats team for him to get settled into a position in the 22. Would be funny if we did pick him up, would add another part to the story. I feel if we do pick him up, it will be for a small forward our outside mid/wing role.

Totally agree..Hayes is a depth player who I thought played that role adequately when required.
I'm surprised when people think he is any more or less than that at this stage.

He might have the ticker to be a Libba Snr,Boyd,Cross,Morris type, but at this stage he is just Hayes.

The only one of those that's sort of a winger is Williams. Hopefully someone steps up and fills that role otherwise it'll be another year of the rotating door of Williams, Roarke and Hayes.
