If you are bored and jaded and want to see something new, watch this

You'll see a huge campaigner looking Dogs ruckman winning taps and hit outs.
My boy! Just wait until he gets a tank on him, competition won't know what hit 'em!

Interesting that they both spoke so highly of Dunks - if he's having that kind of impact around the club then I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the leadership group next year

Heard some goss tonight relating a few clubs - (probably already discussed but thought I’d share).

- All this Wines talk is a laugh and so untrue.

- We’ve asked the question about Papley. But most likely staying.

- Keath wants years on his contract. Not so much about how much $$ per year. Hawks chasing also.

- Smith potentially looking at a Lewis/Hodge move and the talk is real. Dogs in box seat. Blues are sniffing also.

- Brisbane are chasing Jack Martin hard.

- Brad Hill a lock to come home. We’ve enquired but not offering the same $$$ as the saints. Hill was wants hawks obviously.

- Suns going real hard at Burgoyne. Huge $$$.

- We have no interest in Jenkins. Pies, cats or hawks bound if they don’t get Patton.

- Pies confident they’ll retain Grundy. May need to trade out couple.

Sorry if boring goss.

Cheers

Nice comment from Sweet at the end about our positive culture and all the young boys wanting to resign. It's been a good week!

It's no coincidence that our form has spiked since Bev started playing a settled fwd line with fwds rather than mids. And playing mids like Dunkley as mids. Hunter was interviewed on the weekend and said this.

Who'd have thunk it.

Doesn't bode well for guys like Wallis. Bar injuries his opportunities may be limited.

Cordy will need to improve his one on one work. Is even being outmarked by little guys.

Reckon we have learnt and will go hard for some specialist fwds. The oft injured unproven Cavarra aside we don't have a pacy pressure fwd with skill. It's why Tippa would be such a good fit. Even if he doesn't kick goals against good teams. (Although he may do just that playing for a decent team).

What were Hunters exact comments ? I’m interested because I don’t see much of a change in fwd set ups since early season. Still playing the talls. Dickson and Lloyd still there. McLean still playing large minutes. Mids still getting fwd minutes with rotations.
Dunkley a big one with his mid/fwd minutes getting flipped but that was 11-12 rounds ago.
It’s definitely functioning better but not sure it’s because of personnel.

Edit : Dale probably the only personnel change up that’s had impact. I’d say that’s a form thing though just as it’s been for Dickson, as who else was putting their hand up for a role in our fwd 50 ?

Interesting. If Grundy one is correct, someone (either/both SA clubs, maybe others) must be offering big $$$, so Pies having to adjust. Wondering how big an impact that has, and who is expendable.

So we’re possibly in the box seat for... only Smith.

Also wonder if Burgoyne is what Suns need - surely he’d only be good for 1 more year as a player. They need blokes in the 25+ range who can take them forward.

Out of us and hawks for Keath if he leaves.

Papley would be the dream pickup. Easily worth a big contract and high pick

If Hawks are interested in Keath, almost rules us out again :(

Hopefully a Smith deal comes at minimal trade cost if it does happen. Could be a great pickup, but no way would I be happy to see us pay anything significant

I've heard the Martin and Brisbane talk, think there could be something there. Makes sense too. Most rumours I'm hearing lately seem to suggest we've either cooled on him, or were never really that interested in the first place

Hill would be nice, but doubt our chances

Not being interested in Jenkins is slightly relieving - not so sure he's worth the time since he can't have many years left in him. Would be okay, but rather not

Pies retaining Grundy, with their cap squeeze, could mean we can try poaching someone else. Moore link was apparently lies, and he's probably too injury prone, but someone like Mihocek (2020) or even De Goey (2020) could probably be tempted with a big money offer, although highly doubt either would move to us

I don’t get why people think we will lose out to the Hawks just on reputation of pulling power. I doubt they would even be in for someone that won’t be part of their next flag tilt, but if interested good on them to have the mindset they aren’t far off (although if they look the other way they might see the edge of the cliff)

If Keef wants money/security & goes there, good on him. If he wants to be part of something big, then come on down

Ok, let’s ignore the systematic racism that occurred in this country for 100’s of years and pretend that the racism is unfounded.

My employment has taken me to many states, and different work and community environments in this country and I’ve seen first hand the disgusting racism that takes place.
The worst thing about what’s happening is that it’s getting worse because of all the people who are happy leaving their head stuck in the sand.
Racism is very real in this country and we’ve got a long way to go before it starts getting better.
Well, like, that's just your opinion, man.
I rather think that you're completely wrong but, like, that's just my opinion.
Let's get back to the footy.

All for the Sweet extension but Porter has me stumped. I understand he's been great in the VFL recently but how does he ever get into this side as a vanilla inside mid? He's behind Bont, Macrae, Dunkley, Libba, Mclean, Lipinski, Smith, Wallis and West. Literally 10th in line and we only have 40 spots available.

Can only think that we see something in him as a forward or winger but if so he should probably be playing that role in the 2s.

Understand that view, I must admit I previously wondered why we were forcing Lipinski to be an inside mid - but this year I get it..

We have a far far better list than the hawks do don't let there brainwashed supporters fool you. They are going to fall off a cliff when that group of 30 plus year olds retire/leave

Need to be careful wanting to trade Wallis.

Not so long ago he was being touted as a potential future captain such is his character.

Think back to the trading out of Leon Cameron, his leadership and presence at the club was sorely missed.

Wallis should be kept even if he is only ends up a fringe player.

People also need to realize this isn't the NBA where you can be traded without your knowledge whilst on holidays in the Bahamas. Players have to agree to be traded. Wallis is the type who has grown up and led red, white and blue. Unless he is chasing financial security on the next contract, he would rather die playing for the VFL team than slip on another clubs colors. Should end the Wallis trade talk. People are talking like "the club should trade Wallis", well yeah the club cant do anything unless he is willing which I doubt.

The Callum Porter resigning is a confusing one. Hasn’t really shown anything more than being a above average VFL player. Hope he dosen’t turn into another Honeychurch were he stays on the list a couple seasons too long.

He's the team hairdresser. Can't "cut" him

You still have to have some low priced players on your list

Mihocek is soooooo underrated. He’d be amazing as a 3rd tall to compliment the 2 young lefty’s.

Keath I understand, as I feel Cordy is more a 3rd tall and Trengove is in the twilight of his career. These three plus Lewie Young provide good cover in KD positions.

Smith ... Good player, solid citizen, though I think he will take a spot from Richards, Dale, Lipinski, West ... If playing purely as a forward, then Dickson and Lloyd (similar ages) I think are as good (or better) options as a pure forward. Before the bye, I could see sense in Smith. 9 weeks later ... no thanks!
