We might have a hard on for someone around pick 13. If the draft guys reckon they see something back them.
There’s no guarantee that player will even be there though. Our teens picks of late have been Howard, Smith, Richards and English. Our 20’s picks have been Webb, Collins, Dunkley, McLean and Lipinski and West.

If we can get Bruce and Keath and hold 13, great. It’s nice. But if being pig headed about 13 costs us one or both of Keath or Bruce it’s a monumental stuff up. We NEED to get older.

I wonder what the last 28 year old, injured, uncontracted, rookie-drafted player to have played less than 30 games went for in a trade? My guess is that it wasn't for a pick in the 30s.
Based on that should the club be offering three years on pretty good money with a trigger of a fourth ?

This is the argument Adelaide will put forward.

Relax. We’ll get both. But why fire off a trade early for 13 when it’s overs for either player?

The Saints would be stupid to keep a bloke on their list on $600k that they’ve already recruited to replace just because they want pick 25 instead of pick 32.

Ben King is really good mates with Bailey Smith. We’re a shoe in. Have more assets than the Saints to get a trade done as well.

King would be a massive coup - we’d have the best young talls in the comp and by a far margin.

King - Naughton - Schache - English - JUH - Young.

Could send one of Naughton or King to the backline also if JUH really comes on.

It would be great if the saints didn't get him... they are already putting together their sides with him in it

I saw this! Real close with Bailey Smith and looks to be mates with Rhylee West as well. If he wants to be closer to the family while still forging his own path I think we are 100% in with a chance.

It's amazing how the narrative on here has shifted from 'Power is a magician if we get Bruce, Keath and keep 13' to 'if we lose 13, and get Bruce and Keath Power is a mug'.

Presuming Keath and Bruce come in, I'd think we will either need to package up our 3rds into an early/mid 2nd or we'll need to trade 13 and get something in the high teens/low twenties back

The question is who the willing trade partner will be

Which option is the more desirable path depends on our draft preferences and where we think we can get them

Keeping 13 and 1 or 2 very late picks may well be less desirable than a pick at 21 and a pick or 2 in the 40s

Either way, it's gonna be a fun few days

Wouldnt be against pushing our 1st this year to 2020 to IF king is potentially looking to come over. Could package up the first with something next year and have enough to match our bids all our players. Cannot see GC letting him go this year

I’d rather split 13. Draft is pretty even. Just get both players in. If we pay something close to the equivalent of 25 for Bruce, that’s great. Something equivalent to pick 30 for Keath is great too. Do those deals and find a way to take a top 25 pick to draft and that’s a great result.

If the talk about us not willing to trade 13 is just talk I’d understand. I hope we’re not really that serious about it though.
I honestly don't think not getting Bruce and Keath is an option.
This talk of keeping 13 is all good and well, but not getting these players would be completely unacceptable.

Jesus.. give it a rest, you're looking like a tool. Like it or not the saints trading is affecting the dogs. So give it a rest or scroll on
Relax dude,I'm on your side, and think your Saints obsession is hilarious.
Please don't use the lords name in vain though, that's really poor form.

Pretty sure you just made that up dude

Same, get us some of that sweet Sokol
Surely he goes in the second round

Reckon a pick in the 30s

Yeah I'd hope someone is looking for a bulk draft pick package

Would rather get rid of those third rounders and get a pick in the 20s to accommodate Bruce

Though I guess we want them for Keath

I would be very surprised if Sokol went in the second round. Not tall, not overly quick. Has smarts inside 50 but transferring your good football to the top level is hard, and doing it as a midsized fwd is probably the most difficult out of all positions. He’s your archetype 2nd tier gun fwd. Seen plenty over the years (think Dean Galea).
Good player but wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t get drafted at all.
All this of course is just my opinion. With how teams recruit and trade nowadays he could be picked up early, I just can’t see it.
