The issue isn't what he reported. The issue is how he reported it. You don't see any credible journalist put in what they hope happens with complete bias. It reads like you could've tweeted it except he's meant to be well-educated

Your expectations of AFL media personalities are far too high. They aren't journalists, they're producers of entertainment for the masses. They're paid by their bosses to say sensationalised/incorrect/stupid things in order to gather as much attention as possible. That's not the role of a journalist - and so they shouldn't be held to the standards of journalism.

It's a terrible thing that they do, but it's understandable. In some ways, we should feel sorry for them having to debase themselves to such a degree just to make a bit of money under capitalism. But they also cause a lot of harm - so I'm glad there are some repercussions.

If that were the case they could email us, not do it via the media echo chamber. This is what happened with Stringer- we revealed our hand when we didn’t need to and watched our bargaining power disappear.
