I would prefer we went after Ridley with a decent offer. Bit of tit for tat.

Continue to play Keath as a lock down defender. He does it pretty well. Ridley loose defender. Nice kick, great mark.

Dogs 2021 2nd - Treloar (with Dogs taking on FULL contract, provided we can do what Carlton did with Jack Martin and put most of it into year 1)

Dogs 2020 1st (14) - Pies 2021 1st (Pies are keen to do this)

Dogs Dunkley - Essendon 2021 1st, 2 x 2020 2nd rounders (one of these can be from Fantasia, they’d have to find another)

that would give us enough points for Jamarra, bring in Treloar and have 3 2021 1st.

negative is taking a hit in our cap.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking although I'd prefer to swap one of those 2nd rounders for AMT and try to pick up the remaining points for JUH by trading out Shache/Dale/Young.

Tend to agree we keep it separate from Dunkley. 2 issues, as you’ve said we’d have to use other means to get points this year, and not dealing with the Crows for our first rounder this year opens up a bid at 1.

Ridley is a great player but he wouldn’t solve any key defender issues for us. He may be tall but he is not a KPD. He’s a flanker, plays like Sam Docherty

Yep I agree with you on the Treloar price. Effectively a swap of first Rd and a 2nd Rd pick next yr. Honestly would throw in our 21 3rd Rd if it helped.

But I would be even keener on Stephenson though. Would offer next yr's 2nd plus Bailey Dale

Definitely keep any Dunks deal seperate as Dodoro will string things until the deadline making other contingent deals impossible and he will likely not offer a decent trade at all anyway.

I can see Dodoro sourcing and offering Carlton's 21 1st and offering AMT as his best offer. Would prefer to keep Dunkley.
 
Needs to be Essendons future first and pick 6 for Dunkley can always chuck 41 to them to even it out slightly but that has to be our bottom line. None of their players appeal at all. Yes it’s overs to Essendon nuffies but they have to pay overs.

Really interested in treloar and Stephenson. Treloar could always alter his contract if he comes across can’t he? He’s not a free agent so there isn’t as strict a rule around the contract remaining the same? Am I right here or?

If we got 6 would look to swap it with Geelong for 15 and 20. Then offer pies 15 and future second for treloar and Stephenson.

Trade 14 down with Adelaide for 22 and 33.

Get Hannan and 68 for 54.

Give Brisbane 68 for Martin.

Take picks 20, 22 and 33 to the draft (2320 points, enough to match all but pick 1)

4 players in - Martin Hannan treloar Stephenson

future first in (Essendon) future second out.

3 drafted kids in (JUH and 2 others)
 
We are playing this very well.

No internal animosity causing the Dunkley trade request - just the $$$ and little bro (driven by dad).

Our first preference is to keep him and I hope that is what happens, but IF Essendon really want him, they need to overpay.

There is no other way.

Feel much more comfortable with SP managing the negotiations instead of JMAC.

I'm ambivalent when it comes to Tippa and wouldn't want to be paying anything like the figures bandied about last year, but in fairness to him, any player will have protracted periods of low production when playing deep forward at Essendon

I would be asking for pick 6&7 plus Bombers future first for just Dunkley. They targeted a contracted player with a big dollar contract. We want to keep Dunkley, who is contracted for another two years. We could easily increase Dunkley contract to match the Bombers offer.... we have the cap space.

Trade for Treloar could include their 2020 second rounder & their 2021 first rounder. We give up our pick 14 and future second rounder. Treloar doesn’t want to leave Victoria, so there are no clubs, (excluding North) who could take on his 2021 salary.

Time to play hard. It’s not our fault that the Pies have underpaid Treloar, let’s take advantage of the situation. It maybe a bit of our fault with the Dunkley situation BUT he is contracted and we don’t have to trade him.

Dunks is not coming back not now!! Doubt we will get anything more then pick 7 and their next years 2nd.... actually I would nearly be surprised if we received anything more then that. I personally think his is worth more but I highly doubt we get anything better.
 
Treloar will come to the Dogs.... lock it in... makes too much sense to not happen.

We have great currency for Collingwood in Ed Richards & Bailey Dale... two players they are keen on... we may even be able to throw in Schache which would offset the Treloar contract... we pay Treloar, but they take Dale, Richards & Schache contracts off us...

We can effectively replace Richards with Stack, Dale with Hannan and Schache with JUH.... as well as potentially McDonald if Dunkley can be flipped for 6&7, then into Pick 2.

We could do 2nd Round swaps with them as well to suit both clubs need for 2020/2021 points... however in saying that, the NGA changes will mean they would be very keen on our 2021 1st instead to provide better scope to secure Daicos...

Therefore... they throw Stephenson our way too...

Results in;

Give: Richards, Dale, Schache & 2021 1st Rd
Receive: Treloar, Stephenson, 2020 Pick 39 (2nd Rd) & 4th Rd, 2021 2nd

Giving our 1st round away next year will also reduce impact of potentially going into negative on 2020 draft.

Needs to be part of a good deal but Walla would be great for us and he’s on the table already in their first bid.

Him and their 2021 first would be bare minimum (you’d start by asking for Ridley on top of that, maybe go full Dodoro and ask for Merrett too)

I don't actually believe there was an offer of pick 30 and Tippa. Not calling Mojo a liar, I just think he had bad info there. The Bombers are going to end up with a glut of draft picks this trade period, I really don't think they will want to trade out required players as a first preference.

We will get a good deal or he plays with us or sits out the next two years (tip he won’t do the final one).
