The talks with the injured ruckman that we were into a month ago have fallen through so that particular deal will not be happening.

Cannot blame him, MC gives mixed messages about VFL form And senior selection. They say they reward VFL form but promote players with ordinary form give them 10 weeks plus of poor or avaerage performance at AFL level. Other players who get 35 possessions and are BOG are promoted to sub or get 1 or 2 games to perform and vanished mid season not to reappear. The Lipinski thing s**** me. Yeah, he wants an opportunity, but if you grow up a Dogs fanatic and you see an ace midfield in front of you, wouldn't you want to back yourself to break into it and have a shot at winning a flag with your club? He's goes to the Pies and every chance they miss the eight the next few years.

That was my thought.Flynn, who is now about to re-sign with GWS?
Port fans say he’s not a good mark. Concrete hands is what they describe. He is very good around the ground and below the knees though.Ladhams is the ruck Bevo will go for. He has more mobility can play around the ground, more athletic. I was impressed with him this year, a good mark and has some attitude about him. Power will get it done.
I’m sure that would weigh on his mind but I can’t blame him at all. Think about where he’ll be at the end of this contract. He could stay with us, hang on the fringes again and then find himself a 26yr old who’s never cracked a senior rotation and suddenly out of the league. Or he can go to the Pies, barring injury probably play every game and have a good opportunity to show what he can do, and get a nice solid contract to set him up. It’s his future he has to think about and this is a make or break decision for himThe Lipinski thing s**** me. Potentially losing Sweet as well? Lynch in the Lipinski trade sounds like a no brainer.Summary on us from the Herald Sun today:
Sweet has had an approach from another team and is weighing it up. We are keen for him to stay on.
Young also considering rival interest - we’ve offered him 2 years.
Wallis likely to stay as there is minimal interest from opposition.
Flynn, who is now about to re-sign with GWS?

I've seen his name mentioned a couple of times here, but I'm surprised there isn't more talk about Darcy Cameron.
Out of contract this year, obviously playing second fiddle to Grundy. But he's looked very handy and capable when he's gone into the ruck. He's centre bounce work in particular has been quite good at times. I can recall some games where Grundy was benched in important moments and Cameron was preferred (last years elimination final v NicNat)
Is 26, 205cm. Kicked 22 goals from 18 games this year. Can take a clunk when forward.
If he wants a number 1 ruck spot let's give it to him. Will work really well with Timmy as both are very capable forward.
If we were a young side rebuilding I would be all for Max Lynch. But given our list profile Cameron makes much more sense.
Well we screwed Sweet around so if he goes it's our own faultMartin no certainty to go on, Sweet and young both may explore elsewhere and all these 3 rucked at different times of the year.
English seems like he wants to be forward and a second ruck.
Interesting to say the least
I would get a specialist ruck coach ASAP
mehI wonder if we’ve only offered Sweet another year on the rookie list and someone else has come knocking with a senior spot. Lachie Youngsituation againPLAYERCARDSTART17Lachie Young

We would be absolutely screwed
Geelong. Hawks if they lose Ceglar and don’t get Lynch. Pies if they lose Cox and Lynch. Gold Coast. Saints.Who would be interested in Sweet I can only think of two clubs Brisbane, swans
SaintsGeelong.
Saints
And if he does where are our ruckmen? We have very few now as it ismeh
Lachie Young isn’t going anywhere as a player.
Sweet can go if he wants

all this talk about Lipinski misses the point. yes he's hard done by, yes he will play good football elsewhere but the reason for this treatment is he is very soft, critical missed tackles and 'flinches' in all the games that he was dropped after. Bevo has him stamped as a good player but too soft (currently)but happy to retain as depth on minimal wage. I agree with his assessment and just hope we get a decent pick for him. Good luck to him, could make a good winger in the travis johnstone mould at collingwood.Cannot blame him, MC gives mixed messages about VFL form And senior selection. The kid has no choice and I believe this will bite us. Anyway our 27 years old Rookie won best first year player award. Will be interesting to see who will have the better career. The 27 yr old rookie who was gifted games or 23 yr old mid with the elite skills and vision. I have no doubt 1 will be a 200 plus game player and the other will struggle to get to 50. We of course invest in the Mitch Honeychurch/Billy Gowers/Will Hayes type player.
