Of all our players definitely or allegedly seeking greener pastures, I reckon West would come back to bite us the most (IF he leaves, of course). His ability to break through contests can't be taught, there's a lot to work with there. For us..... or someone else.

I just like the idea of having a solid option down the line to scare defenders ala Gawn.

Don't think we can afford to wait for an ideal option, just gotta take the best that's on offer.

I'd be keeping west and letting Lipinski off. Young I'm ambivalent about. If we can get some picks for a ruck and a defender then I'm all in.

If you’re talking key position, not really. Started his career as a half bank flank. Sort of like Trent McKenzie so maybe that’s something he could learn though.

There’s very few players I’d rather less than Finlayson to be honest. Absolute front runner who goes missing as soon as it gets tough

We have a more forward we have been pushing into the ruck Tim English

We have a reasonable developing ruck at Footscray - Jordan Sweet not getting enough time in the AFL

I'd love a good ruck that can take a strong grab, but at this point my standards are pretty low after watching months of Young and Schache in the ruck so Ladhams sounds pretty damn good to me (even if he's admittedly below average compared to the average number 1 ruck)

Don't worry Sammy is not BF he is the iceman. He can be trusted to make the right calls.
Here we can indulge in flights of fancy as its all hypothetical in the BF realm. I mean who saw Treloar coming with Collingwood paying a 1/3 of his contract??

I doubt it. They fluked the pick from that Pies trade so they should just take a pick and be very pleased with themselves. There was a really poor trade rumour involving North I think but GWS said no.

Reports are that he wants to go to SA for family support reasons for he and his partner and they don’t have that support in Sydney so doubt he’d been open to a move to Victoria.

Also just don’t rate him as a player at all.

Yeah it depends on who instigated it. Seems to be enough smoke though to suggest it’s legitimate.

What is mentally weak about players recognising our midfield is 6 very strong and youngish mids deep, and that there are lots of other teams that have better opportunities due to their respective list management? Was Josh Kennedy weak for going to Sydney and winning a premiership? I don’t get this argument. It’s a business and the Window for all these guys is 8-10 years long - if they are very good. A mid who is #7-9 on our list of players, and who can’t get a senior game, should absolutely look at better options or they won’t get a career at all. I hope the club is helping them do so within reason. It’s disappointing to lose depth but we need the spots to fill our own holes anyway.

be worth a look? Provide some good FWD/MID depth that we'll lose after Lipinski and/or Wallis leave, and would be massively valuable for the boys to have such a positive presence around after such a demoralising GF loss

Don't really see anything mentally weak about it. Can get more money and more gametime elsewhere in a role that they feel suits them better. It's a short career nothing wrong with trying to maximise it.

As long as they see out the contract they sign it's all good imo
