What I love the most is Jong mentioned our awesome culture on social media with his re-signing post, as did Billy Gowers on his retirement social media post. Gowers one almost felt like a jab back at the haters.
Copy that!! I got the feeling that he was making a point how good the club was

I’m a no to Treloar. Sends the wrong message to our players and it stuffs our salary cap. Good player but I’d much rather pay $900k to Grundy than a mid who is no better than Smith and who sets an unwelcome salary precident on our list. Someone needs to tell Sammy it’s a Trojan horse and he needs to keep the gates firmly shut.

Sounds like Collingwood will likely pay a portion of his contract, wherever he goes, so he'd be more in the 550-750k range which is about right for his quality

Even if the pies pay a 150-200k of his contract..?

I know that Billy wasn't a fan favourite and had some stress-inducing moments but he has been a pretty good clubman and obviously enjoyed his time at the Dogs. If anyone wants a nice way to thank him for his service and efforts, I'd recommend checking out his Movember page, as it goes towards a great cause.

Would be nice to pin this fundraiser for Billy

We do not need Treloar. We have too many mid-fielders. We can't even blood West into the team because there are too many mids. West will be very good and offers something different and unlike Treloar, looks and hits targets inside 50.

What we need is a quality defender who can lock down on a big forward and an elusive smart forward.
The only thing Essendon can offer us in return for Dunks is Hurley and MacDonald or find something of that ilk for us elsewhere.

The internal culture at Essendon remains screwed, nobody is happy there. Dodoro is despised. They are not happy. And Dunks is just a shiny piece of bling to distract its supporters.

Hope we’re seriously considering Stephenson from Collingwood, but wondering whether Jack Higgins would be worth a go? Particularly if we can’t get Stepho.
I will admit I did search up the age of his “brother” Shaun Higgins and reminisced about his silky skills. His trade could come down to the wire if Geelong has to throw the sink at the plastics and he might consider approaches from other clubs. He’s definitely not going back to Norf.
Imagine him healthy Like he has been the last 2 years playing high half forward and delivering deep inside 50...
Might be a nice fairy tale end and is an upgrade on Suckling IMO
Dogs had a serious look at getting Shaun Higgins to return... he leaned towards Geelong but it’s a possibility

Dunks is not coming back not now!! Doubt we will get anything more then pick 7 and their next years 2nd.... actually I would nearly be surprised if we received anything more then that. I personally think his is worth more but I highly doubt we get anything better.
no he’s prepared to come back. He is still currently torn between the 2 clubs

He requested to be traded
Yea I know but in this case what we are hearing from the club and Pickering is true. Pickering said that he’s prepared to stay at the Dogs and the Dogs know that if they hold him he’ll be professional and represent our club 100%. From what I’m hearing he is still torn between the 2 clubs. He has his dad in one ear telling him to go to Ess with his brother. There is no bad blood between club and player.
Sam will hold firm and only let him go if its a great deal for the Dogs. He doesn’t want to get involved in a three-way deal involving Treloar as that will likely devalue Dunks... he is very interested in Treloar but will keep the deals separate.

I love hearing this. Been saying for days the deals should be separate.

Look, if you were an Essendon supporter and the Bumbers can achieve all of this you would probably think Dodoro is the best thing since sliced bread but I think it's long overdue that somebody (hopefully us) takes him to the cleaners.
Sliced bread is overrated, i remember the days we used to slice our own bread i was like a samurai with a bread knife. Don't get me started on minimum chips used to be able a feed the whole family with a serve of minimum chips, now it's a couple of fries if you're lucky. The humble five cent bag of mixed lollies could feed an African village for a year, now you get one lolly for five cents if you're lucky. Sorry about that value for money rant now what were we talking about ? Oh that's right Adrian Dodoro what a smug looking prick, should sell used cars.

Herald Sun talking about our pick swap with Adelaide, saying if it’s 14 to 22 & 23 we may need to throw in 41 to even it out.

really hope not, both times we’ve traded a teens pick for picks in the 20s (both with Carlton- 11 for 21&22 in 2015 and their 16 for our 25 & 30 in 2017) we were the ones who had to add a sweetener both times.

I get this is a bit different though due to them not bidding.

If it happens I hope it’s our 54 not 41. 22,23 & 41 give us almost exactly enough points to match for Jamarra at pick 2.

is it true the AFL bring mediators into the room if need be? If we keep pushing back, does that bring one in?

Mediation is just a process to bring parties together with an independent person controlling the process.

No guarantee on an outcome and there is no way to force an outcome.

If dogs wont take essendon's calls, the druggies will likely call for a mediation, and the dogs would have to go, but could sit in the room and say nothing the whole time - and still satisfy the requirement.

Mediation is only useful when both sides want a deal.

Maybe it’s just me, but these pick swaps and shuffles and points do my head in.

I’d be shocked if they gave us both 22 and 23.

Mediation works when a player is out of contract and deal can’t be done with club he wants to go to.

There is no mediation for Dunkley they don’t need to look far there’s a contract

Spot on. As soon as the deals are linked Dodoro's gets leverage. At present we hold the whip hand with both clubs - as long as the deals are separate.

I like that our negotiations with Adelaide are progressing re pick swaps. Noting this can be done after trade period finishes. Sam just going about his regular business and not letting Dodoro gum things up.

Gotta say I am very confident about Sam Power's negotiation ability. Relaxed and comfortable this trade period.

If JMac was still here I'd be shifting myself.

Assuming a Dunkley deal isn't done because Dodoro can't bring himself to pay market let alone over market value if I am an oppo club keen on Josh Dunkley I'd draft Kyle this draft and be into Josh massively. Love the idea that Dodoro misses out.

What a disastrous post season period for the Bombers. No Dunks. Worsfold, Daniher, Saad and Fantasia out.

In other words everyone gets what they want as long as we tow the line and maybe compromise

I would be clear IF the offer is one where Sam doesn’t need to think about it and says where do we sign you walk away.

The deal should be in our favour by the length of the Flemington straight and it should be so good no one on BF forum should complain.
Not sure that’s possible to have no one on BF complain but on today of all days who knows, good things can happen!
