Lonie playing well, even if it's only a scratch match. Wished we had picked him up.

Squiggle tips Saints at 51% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
$I believe we asked the question why would you leave while the Tigs dynasty is still winning premierships. They could very well go again this year
While the Tigs are so successful they will easily line up 'off field' investment opportunities to offset actual football contract.
When the Tigs fall off the cliff which inevitably comes to all sides , then he might go to chase more success and dollars.
Until that happens can't see him moving even for a larger footy contract
Moving Bruce to KPD after failing at the role 8 years ago, never training or playing in that role since then and training exclusively with the forwards group all pre-season, on the eve of round 1 would an *ahem* interesting choice.
I hope we keep a list spot open for the mid season draft. There’s going to be a lot of good talent that got missed because of no footy last year. Hope we pick up a decent CHB but knowing the Dogs it will be a halfback or inside mid
Tall, spindly project ruckman !!!
Hahaha 100% how did I forget thatTall, spindly project ruckman !!!
We sure did he played well todayAnyone see Aliir play today ??? We missed a chance there.
He is Dunkley with better vision and skills. Will be interest. If Dunkley goes though he should see future opportunity.
I was hopeful he was tried there pre season too, with his improved fitness, toughness at the ball and contested marking, he would suit, his last time tried there was at the start of his career at the GiantsBruce to FB Bruce to FB Bruce to FB, gonna keep screaming this until it happens
Naughty and Tim are enough marking power down forward, throw in an improved Schache who would create gaps for those two to work in and would get so many good looks just because of how much attention Naughty especially and now English are requiring. Honestly if those 3 played every game I’d bet any amount of money Schache averages 2.1 across the year and ends up with 45 odd goals.
Throw Vanders, West and Wally at their feet and it’s not toooo slow, so long as Naughty and Tim are marking what we know their capable of marking then our pace on the rebound won’t be that critical anyway.
Bruce’s best asset at this stage is his competitiveness in the contest. He’s a huge body whose quick enough to go with most number 1 forwards. Let’s let him create that havoc he does in our forward line in the backline. He’s a good contested mark and it’s easier to take contested marks in the backline than forward line. His field kicking while not a strength is better than his goal kicking and probably on par with a lot of key defenders.
And his biggest fault imo is he gets in his own head and drops his bundle, drops chest marks misses sodas etc, I think the backline would be good for him. Most players tend to be a bit let and more composed behind the ball.
It’s worth a try
I haven’t been an advocate of moving Bruce but when you see how Tom McCartin has taken to it in a relatively short space of time it makes you wonder.I was hopeful he was tried there pre season too, with his improved fitness, toughness at the ball and contested marking, he would suit, his last time tried there was at the start of his career at the Giants
I don't get how everyone forgets our premiership defensive line.
Wood Hamling Cordy
JJ Roberts Biggs
Hardly any of these guys were household names but the worked and had/have heart. What made them work was our defensive pressure on the ball carrier which made interception and spoiling so much easier as the kicks forward were high and slow.
Im not saying they will or won't make it but our midfield needs to do more defensively to help the defence. Too many times do teams open us up and leave our defence high and dry.
thats a long bow based on what exactlyI understand bevo being pissed at dunkley and rightly so , but he needs to put on he’s big boy pants and do what’s best for the club and not tank he’s value like he did with stringer saying he’s not welcome back at the club . To me this just lowers dunkleys value in the long run and we end up getting bent over at the trade table.
I hope it is so BF will have something to rant aboutI hope we keep a list spot open for the mid season draft. There’s going to be a lot of good talent that got missed because of no footy last year. Hope we pick up a decent CHB but knowing the Dogs it will be a halfback or inside mid
Gardner and Scott come on is this even a questionSo who are we delisting after this practice match
It does, he has the attributes to do it to I think.I haven’t been an advocate of moving Bruce but when you see how Tom McCartin has taken to it in a relatively short space of time it makes you wonder.
I just believe it’s succch an obvious solution to our woes. The forward line is cramped and awkward with English, Naughts and Bruce. It does, he has the attributes to do it to I think.
