Sam Weideman as Melbourne seem committed to playing Ben Brown. Could make a top line Defender
We aren't getting weiderman. We will look after our young list and then poach someone cheap. We have a lot of good players coming off contract soon. We need to be realistic with expectations. The only way we get a top liner is by losing dunkley or Smith

So we are in line for TWO top liners this off season?

If Weideman asked for a trade considering Melbourne aren't giving him a game they couldn't get a lot in the way of draft capital.
Or dollars for that matter, highly unlikely too happen but would be quizzing his management to gauge any possible interest

Melbourne would ask for a 1st rounder and Weiderman would want some money. What makes you think hes going to be a good defender? It is just unrealistic. The one we really missed out on was Allir from Port. We get him I think we would be pretty hard to beat and he wasnt expensive on contract or trade

Tom McDonald will go back in the backline and that will open a spot for Weideman

His name has been mentioned for years on this board but still think McStay could be the man for this. I played juniors with him and he's always been a much more natural defender.

I coached him in Juniors.... along with Christian Petracca and Marc Pittonet.
Good young fellas all. Park Orchards Golden or a little later on?
Would love to see him in the colours!

This is what happens when an obstinate Beveridge refuses to play JUH, who has clearly been ready since round one.

Other teams are already sniffing around and Dedoro is the best in the business at getting in the ear of disgruntled guns wasting away in the 2nds.

The jungle drums are starting to beat that JUH isn't at all happy with not playing round one and is fielding offers for his next contract.

Surely you’re taking the pi55? He’s weeks away

I'm reliably informed that Dodo has already cut out a high 3rd round pick to get him across...

Sounds like collingwood are imploding and the playing group is fractured. Are we a chance at all of getting Moore?? Hope Treloar’s in his ear all year about how much more relaxed it is here. Sam Power should throw the kitchen sink at him. He’s the final piece of the puzzle.
Salary would be too much for us.

Doubt we can offer big money to the Bont and also another 700-800k to Moore
