I've heard the Dogs put more relative attention / funding into medical / psych / conditioning / rehab than many other teams (source a medical person from another club).

Perhaps we will see some life in Bruce / Keath etc yet?
And yet we constantly have half a dozen or more on the injury list. Hate to think how bad it'd be if we spent average money in that dept... 😬

I have no idea what those first two sentences mean.

I’d say if we got 40-50 games out of Lobb, that would be a win and by then, Darcy would be more developed.

Playing them both in the same forward line (short term) is a big risk, but they could easily be doing it in 3-4 years.
You dismissed Eades view as well and number of other commentators view that we don't need lobb by inferring they are lazy.
You know more :)

If Lobb lasts into his 4th year its a miracle.

Never going to happen, as we all know it’s all about the extra moolah from the broadcasting rights - hence GWS and Gold Coast to give an extra game each week.

I couldn’t care less if they are perennial strugglers - as long as we’re not!

Only because you never saw it. V Hawthorn 1 tap and a few ruck contests( can't find those stats)
So throwing Darcy into the ruck vs Freo didn't happen according to you because it 'wasn't the tactic'
He had 1 hitout and took a few forward 50 ball ups. The point of Tians post was the selected combos we went with we occasionally had Bont and Dunkley ruck do we count all their goals too?

Josh Dunkley toured Brisbane's HQ late last week.

I can’t help but think playing Naughton, JUH and Schache (who is a natural forward) would have been our best forward set up to create space, ruck up forward (Schache or Naughton) and provide a combination of leading patterns and pack marking.

The way he took Aliir out of the contest and protected space for Naughton in the PF last year was a thing of beauty. Wasn’t always consistent, but I thought his floor was a lot higher the past two years than in seasons past. Only had 1-2 poor games out of his last 15 or so imo. Anyway, they went with Cordy for half a season instead and what do I know.

Yes, I’ve outlined more reasons than most for why us recruiting Lobb makes sense.

Yes, I think AFL media are very lazy in general when it comes to doing even basic research. I’d be surprised if most on here don’t think the same.

Yes, Lobb likely won’t last four years, albeit it’s not impossible. We need around two good years of footy from him.

It’s hard to not start regretting the Treloar recruitment. Too many mids, squeezed Dunks out, he looked a shell this season.
How so? Dunks has been playing plenty of inside mid whereas Treloar has been thrown wherever we need him, half forward, half back, wing, and played to a generally high standard. Has been a very solid performer.

The additional funding for support services is at the expense of experienced assistant coaches to stay under the spending cap, and our poor game plan this year is the result.

I was at the Freo game on the weekend and I watched Lobb closely, it wouldn't have mattered who was playing as a key forward for Freo they would have struggled. The ball movement was painfully slow and when they did get a chance to kick to Lobb it generally wasn't close to his advantage. Most likely next year if Lobb comes he would be getting the third tall and he becomes a role player in the forward line rather than the main man.
