Lol love all these posters trying to make out that Schache is better than he is because Beveridge “refuses” to play him in his proper position…even though he played forward for two years and only moved back when he had zero impact up forward.

We don’t know how to develop players to play in specific positions but prefer to throw them all over the place in the hope they make it.

All this leads to confusion

I suspect that a better club with a more coherent gameplan would figure out how to get the best out of Schache. I could see him being a 40-goal a year forward at a club like Melbourne.

Fair enough mate. My frustration is amplified by other guys Bevo has let go who have gone on to play good footy elsewhere

Look you may be right but settle players in one position and teach them how to play it.

Bruce kicked 4.5 in the VFL and came in when Schache went out with Covid. That's the selection integrity you're speaking of.

It's certainly now time to have Schache in and Bruce out (and likely was a week ago) but what you're saying isn't accurate. Josh Bruce was rewarded for his VFL form, as Schache will be this week.

Yeah I know what you're saying, but Bruce was brought in due to selection integrity as well, I just felt your assessment of him running like an 80 year old man was a bit harsh, he certainly isn't running like he was and with the benefit of hindsight he wouldn't be playing but you can't not reward that VFL game he had against the Saints 2's.

Interested to know, what is the longest run of games he has been given?

Seems like he plays a shocker every now and then and he is out until someone gets injured.

He played 13 straight games in 2018.

He played 4 straight in 2019, and then 5 straight, then 5 (including a final)

In 2020 he played just two games, in 2021 he played in round 7 and then rounds 19-GF (missing just round 22)

I think 4 games is a good enough sample size to justify a position and a spot (see Josh Bruce now). If we're being realistic only this year has he been thrown around unfairly in my opinion.

Schache, Jamarra and Naughty would work well - if we had any idea how to kick to advantage of a forward. Schache and Jamarra dragging their opponents away from Naughty whose at full forward for the high ball. Jamarra the deadly burst leads, Schache the smart positioning finding himself space, and again Naughty out the back.

Realistically we’d just burn Jamarra and Schache and kick to Naughtys head in a 3 on 1

We hate sitting the ball out in space for them to lead into. Everything is sat on their heads or drilled as hard as it can be that it's nearly impossible to grab cleanly out in front

Imagine Marra had Lippa kicking too him instead of the likes of McComb, McNeil, VDM

I know people have mixed feelings about Cameron, but at the very least he's got the experience to challenge Bevo and provide a dissenting voice when needed. I'm excited by this.

What would Barrass cost, remembering he’s got a 5yr contract. Would not be cheap, he’s arguably the best CHB in the comp this year, 27 next year. Paired from round one with Jones at FB and Darcy in the pocket, Keath back up. That’d be bloody juicy.

They’d be asking for 2 firsts with maybe a 2nd going back tbh
