Either way their similar players who have both spent time at both ends of the ground, it’s going to be a hard pill to swallow when we’re left with the s**t old injury prone one when we need to be building on our depth. Even if it’s out of our control ie Buku looks elsewhere

Buku was moved forward at half time in a game we were losing and kicked 4 in the second half.
They never moved him back
Personally, I think for his career he would have been better off not kicking those 4 goals

Yep and also feels like he’s been kept there out of necessity due to us always being short of tall forwards in the VFL, rather than what’s best for his development. Unless you want to believe that the club truely sees a 188cm/90kg bloke as a genuine FF/2nd ruck option at AFL level which is just crazy.

He was tracking just fine in defence for a 20yo project player, no shit by 23 he’s going to be a better play no matter where he plays. But there’s a gaping hole in the AFL team for a 3rd tall defender & he may just have played a fair chunk of games down there this year if given the chance.

Will be interesting to see how his next couple of years play out whether it’s with us or elsewhere, fwd or back

They finished 2nd bottom, therefore pick 2
They lose McKay, perhaps pick 3. That’s a problem with the AFL’s mystical system, not North.
They lost JHF the no.1 draft choice. Port’s first rounder, what’s wrong with that.
The chance at selecting Sanders is the only shonky one here.

Josh Schache kicked 29.17 for Casey in 3 less games. And we know that he spuds it up at AFL level.

Of course it’d suck to lose Buku but that would be true regardless of what happens with O’Brien.

I thought it sucked that we lost Josh Dunkley last year and went into this year with Robbie McComb on the list but I just think that goes without saying .

Roarke has consistently been among our best finals performers. As far as depth players go, he’s the best we’ve got. Fine with moving on from him given the injury troubles, but I can’t agree that we’re instantly better without a fit Roarke

Duryea has a one year deal on the table and O'Brien is a potential to get one more years aswell depending how the trade period goes.
