It’s a pretty good indication of how little football I’ve seen in the last four or so years when I say that I’ve legitimately never really seen Wilkie or Butts play and wouldn’t know them if I walked past them. But if you astute legends say they’re quality, then I’m onboard

Wilkie is a proven player with absolute quality. I know nothing about Butts other than he must have had an unfortunate time at school. Rarely watch Adelaide TBH

I don't really want May and agree he wouldn't be the right fit given some of his behaviour but I don't think he's as cooked as some make out.

He averaged more marks, disposals, intercept marks, intercept possessions, effective kicks, and contested defence 1v1s than any of our key backs in 2025. He also had a better contested defence win rate and a better disposal efficiency than any of our key backs. He averaged slightly fewer contested marks and slightly fewer spoils than Lobb, but otherwise higher than our other key backs.

Melbourne play a much better defensive system then us as they have little to no firepower to score

I refuse to watch as we risk imploding from within, all for a player that, being incredibly generous based on the latter half of this year, is past his best.
