I think we’re diluting the term dickhead at this point. I like a Rhylee West style dickhead. May isn’t even a dickhead he’s a ****wit who shouldn’t be anywhere near our club.
I’m getting really confused. Can someone post a 10 point scale of dickheadedness please?

I mean where does dickhead sit in relation to “f***wit” and “cancer”? All terms I’ve read here describing May.
Also a “dog campaigner” whatever that is.

And where does Rhylee fit? Can dickheads be benign? Beneficent even?

I’ve had some batsh*t insane ideas over the years such as Naughton and/or Jamarra spending time in stoppages..

But here is my craziest idea and I don’t get some laugh emoji reactions I’m not doing it right:

We need to start playing Bont more as a utility and potentially put him behind the ball a bit more. Here’s why:

  • he’s a tremendous defensive player with height, length and tackling
  • he needs to evolve to be a Burgoyne esque midfielder that goes in at crucial times. Preserve his energy so he can go in and be a true weapon
  • doesn’t need to be only down back, can do forward and wing too but defence is a string to his bow worth adding
  • prolong his career
  • give more midfield minutes for mini bont, rhylee west and sanders if he ever learns to play in there

Laugh away!
If you want batshit crazy why not make Bont a KPP?

He has the height, physique, smarts experience, attitude and skills to be a brilliant CHB. Like EJ he can play any position on the ground so why not the one that will give us the biggest net benefit?

I’m hoping for Silvagni.
Although I don’t think it matters if we get him, May or Sam Taylor. We go back into the middle more than any other side.
We turn it over and our defenders are stuffed.
Looks great against lower sides but against the best we get beaten.
In saying that our losing margin average against the sides who beat us is only 14 points so we are not far away. Clean that up and it will go a long way.
Better decisions sometimes and skill others and we’re there. Sometimes we need to slow down a little.

From last night to RD 1 I’d like to see:

Buss -> someone
McNeil - > Weightman
JJ -> Sellwood
Garcia -> Treloar
Baker -> Dolan (even though Baker has been pretty good, if Dolan takes a physical step he just has way more class)
Jaques could possibly overtake Cleary with a big preseason too

Other than the glaring hole at FB we already have the cattle. Now we need people who can steer the ship
The amount of times we have had 5 straight goals kicked on us, then the camera zooms into the coaches box and there just seems no urgency from Bevo.
Most coaches are going off, shuffling magnet around, nope not bevo.

Was Bailey Dale at training yesterday? Have heard he could be out for 3 months. Been trying to confirm as is not from usual source and kind of 2nd hand.

Our defending opposition transition from their D50 to their F50 isn’t that bad:

Opposition go from their D50 to their F50 21.1% of the time which is the 4th lowest percentage.

The issue is when they do they score 9.3% of the time which is the 10th worst along side Gold Coast.

We also allow a shot 51% of the time a team goes inside 50 against us which has us at 14th alongside Melbourne.

We also conceded on average 44.1 points from turnover per game 11th worst beside GWS and Carlton.

So we limit opposition transition but when they get through they score or have a shot regularly.

Yesterday Fremantle went at 27.5% D50 to F50 and scored 15% of those times and scored 71 points from turnover.

Which my reading of it is when we turn the ball over we are so aggressive in our positioning that we cannot defend and we get caught out out the back and one v one in defence. Having quicker forwards will not stop that occurring
Great stats mate, backs up what my BF supporters are seeing, bevo needs your analytics

I’m bullish on O’Donnell. We will have natural improvements from him, Buss and Cleary with this years experience and another pre season.
Hopefully we can get Silvagni and see what else trade draft period brings.
We better hope there's natural improvement because my gosh, he makes some horrific decisions. I understand he played cricket before getting drafted but his footy IQ is right up there with Gardners.

Where will Carlton’s second round pick land
It's really hard to know with second round picks, once clubs receive compos, players are matched on etc. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the 30-33ish range.

No, Rhylee is a good campaigner. Not a dickhead.

Good evening, I come in peace.

Just wondering what the general consensus is around Buku Khamis? I wouldn't mind him at Carlton. I know he plays both ends of the ground, is he better suited to one or the other? What would you be looking for in terms of trade compensation for him?

After the Suns practically handed Collingwood a top 4 finish, genuinely hope the Bombers knock them off this week and you take their place in the 8 🍻

Khamis' big strengths are that he has strong hands and is a straight kick. He's a much better forward than he is a defender but he's a mark on the lead type of forward instead of being a pack forward.

I couldn't care less about how much ability May has left. His behaviour has proven him to be a 34 year old man child who is a cultural cancer.

He's not a tough on-field leader with a winning attitude, he's a goose who puts teammates offside.
Plenty of players get tagged with such reputations but still have multiple premiership medallions.

Jason Akermanis a great case in point, but the jealous selfish players who pushed him out of the Bulldogs were a much bigger problem than he was and arguably cost themselves a premiership by doing so.

Where has silvagni been playing for the blues? seems like a lot of years he has had 20-30 shots on goal and its only the 2025 season where he has only kicked 2 goals and had a serious number of 1 %ers to his name?
Evening!
He's played everywhere - forward, back, ruck/follower. The sort of player that isn't elite enough to nail down any one position, but will have a crack at anything. 300 game head on a schoolboy's body (ten years later it's still true) - he is what he'll always be by now. Makes good decisions, is crafty, quick hands (but not so quick legs), anticipates/positions well, but always looks like he's just come off a 20km marathon - which might explain some shots on goal.

At 27 still got plenty of football left. He's not a full-back - a genuine power forward would dine out on him, but he's more than handy as a mobile CHB.

If we didn't have O'Farrell, Dean and maybe Charleson coming through I'd be upset about him leaving.

Genuine question regarding all these 1 v 1 stats being compared here …

Isn’t it likely that the best defender goes to the best forward most of the time? Meaning that his 1v1 successes are much harder to come by and therefore not comparable to those of a player who goes to say the third or fourth most dangerous forward?
