When we've got a lot of people wasting spots on the list, I think it would have been foolish to not take the chance on Treloar getting his body right and making some sort of impact next season

One year extension for Treloar is the right move

I'd be happy with this.

Even if hypothetically he has a similar 2026 to 2025 and struggles to get on the park next year, he clearly has a positive impact on the club.

I wasn’t trying to compare the two players as much as I was agreeing how it’s unfair when you have a conflicting opinion to others that you’re disloyal to the club etc and using the time I had criticised Addison as an example to let the OP know to not take it too much to heart

I'd be surprised if anyone said he was disloyal to the club (I don't recall any such comments) but fair enough if so. it's good advice in bold, we're all just giving our opinions.

There's nothing left here for Coffield now. He's not up to the level anymore.

He has only ever played games as the third tall and we have guys like Sellwood, Cleary & Walker (in addition to KPDs like Buss, JOD & Lobb) who can cover that role.

I expect our delisting's to be Coffield & Scott. Buku & Jamarra likely traded. Liam Jones & Duryea retired. Poulter, Baker & JJ will be very nervous waits.

Smith would make a great FB. If we wanted to go down that route. I rate him massively & want him in the side. Agile & aggro. He deserves games next year. Has been incredibly consistent. Hope we can find him a spot with English in the side it will be difficult but at the very least hoping he gets a taste next year & re-signs. As he has future ruck, locked up for us.

Bevo seems to have a weird love for Baker tho.

Baker had some excellent games this year though. He was more aggressive at the player. Used the ball well, and his speed.

I agree. I'd like to see Smith given some time with the backs group during pre-season to see how he goes. Gardner can play ruck for the Footscray side if needs be.

My take from VFL yesterday was very impressed with Jacques, Hynes, Selwood and Dolan to some extent he just needs to hit puberty first and Hynes needs to get fitter

I’m still not sold on Busslinger he may get in good positions but geez he’s slow for someone his size it amazes me how slow he is!

The thing with Buss is that iirc many of his flaws were known when we drafted him.

Not sure if we thought he'd grow out of them or be able to change them?

PS. I'm still a fan though

I would be a little surprised if Coffield stays on an AFL list

It’s a real shame because he was quite good and very promising before the injuries. Think he was top 10 in the league for intercept marks in 2020 (total and average) as a 21 year old. Injuries have stifled him and doesn’t seem to have any confidence in his body or game anymore

Still seems to perform well at VFL level so maybe it’s not completely over for him but it’d be a gamble for anyone to give him an AFL contract

Busslinger's draft year was a poor draft.

The only one we really missed after his selection was Weddle.

Max Michalanney is also a gun but he was tied to Adelaide. We were keen on him too iirc.

Maybe Darcy Jones from GWS but that's pushing it.

I think keeping JJ based on his output and recent injuries over the last couple years is a mistake and could hamper the development of someone like Selwood or Jacques..

Poulter in my opinion is never going to make it especially when we are wanting guys who do and die in battle consistently. Was worth a try and will have his days but I don't see a huge upside.

Coffield is interesting, has the size and attributes but doesn't seem the type to run and carry in the ball and doesn't seem to add much. Has been worth the try and possibly gets a contract based on depth.

Scott, great VFL player but I think we have some youth I would rather see developed, but has been a great clubman.

Baker... I'm confused, originally I said no but did go ok late this year

It's all well and good to let go of depth players, but what is the point if we are picking in the 5th round of the draft that is already compromised heavily. Most likely going to pick up the same at best.

Don't see many being traded in.

I don't think we should offer JJ an extension either. He's a low tackle, low pressure running player and I just don't see him as a cog to improve our backline going forward.
