The above is why any deal would be very difficult, assuming Cal wants to go (which has never been stated).

You don't get an AA full back for one or two speculative draft picks. Got to give, to get.

IF the dogs are serious about fixing their biggest weakness, there would need to be a quality player in return that is excess to the dogs and required by St Kilda, ideally.
I think you'll find this board is quite split on the need for Wilkie.

Some think he's the Messiah while others believe our defensive issues are more tactics than personnel and breaking the bank for a 30 year old player is a bridge too far and unnecessary.

Who's split?

All I have seen is questions about his age people point out he's never missed a game and then nothing of it after

Couple of bits:

Buku to Carlton definitely happening.

Steven May has parted ways with Melbourne ... have a feeling you're involved ;)
Thanks as always C4.

The Blues sent a high-quality, high-character guy to us in Mr. Kennedy - you'll get the same with Buku. He is well-liked and respected around here.

I wonder if Carlton will be interested in giving us their TDK compo considering they have a FS in the first round. Doing a deal with Khamis and some other picks from us?
Khamis + our second + f3 for their first considering it will blow out to pick 17?

Who says no

We can easily get both Buku will net either 2nd rounder this year or next trade that + pick 10 for Wilkie then use our 2nd + F2 for Butts

Yeah definitely can easily get both, more so nervous as Edmund saying if Wilkie says no, then we turn our attention to Butts. If we don't get a firm NO from Wilkie or Saints until late in trade period and Butts is already down the road with the Roos or another club on a big deal, then it might be tricky. I have faith in Sammy P, Wilkie and Butts would improve us a ton, so fingers crossed we land one, if not both.

2 deals are separate so no reason to lose ground on Butts also going for Wilkie

Similar to Hawks with Battle and Barrass

Hawks about to give up multiple first rounders for a 30 year old. You want proven quality you gotta pay
agree with you but technically we have stuffed up our picks with Smith, and Jamarra that were high draft picks and I would hate to see another high pick go to waste when we can keep adding decent quality youth

4 x$600k i put on here a few weeks back

Pick 10 for Wilkie, he is 30 year old! not comfortable with this
Likely to be pick 15+ after bids, in a weak draft.
I expect the Saints ask for more than that
