Second round pick I reckon.
With how shit this draft is rated, and how compromised it is, I think we’d need a sweetener on top. 2nd + 3rd, or two 2nd with 3rd in return

These days, the 2nd round tends to go from pick 25 - 45, instead of the 19-36 it’s supposed to be. Picks aren’t worth what they used to be

It'd be:

28 + F2 for Butts F3 for mine

Yeah, I think that’s probably right in the end if it happens. He isn’t out of contract and we might be desperate by then.

The Bulldogs now have an official offer infront of Butts.
Waynes World GIF

Wilkie Butts JOD
Dale Lobb Cleary

I like it
I feel that is a little top heavy. To me it will be Wilkie and Butts doing the 1-2 man on man stuff. It will allow one of Lobb or JOD to play the loose man interceptor.
Those pricks are determined to never bottom out aren't they.
Sadly so. If they add Curnow, they are set in the forward line for the foreseeable future. Have some decent young key defenders, midfield has some solid players, and they may end up adding Marshall as well.

2 deals are separate so no reason to lose ground on Butts also going for Wilkie

Similar to Hawks with Battle and Barrass

Don’t be surprised if we’re going for both Wilkie and Butts. Have heard that we are making further inquiries with Butts management.

Yeah we could easily accommodate both. Wilkie can play small and medium.

Although the report is that we will shift all of our focus to Bergman now that Butters is likely staying put for one more year and Rowell has re-signed I'm being told that isn't entirely true. We still have strong interest in Bergman ( about 4th in line though) but we are also now HEAVILY targeting Zac Bailey who like Butters has one year on his contract before becoming a free agent.
Re-sharing this post from June before the media link us to Bailey.

That's assuming we don't cop injuries which we almost certainly will.

I think that's being forgotten here. Not just any injuries, but Lobb himself.

We all knew about his ribs. He copped massive knocks 3-4 weeks in a row and was clearly struggling in the last couple of weeks.

There was one goal in that 2Q run of Freo's where he simply could not bend down to kill a ground ball. 15 weeks of the season he would have tapped it oob and we regroup.

It was likely a reason that he played more 1-1. Being that loose floater with bruised ribs is more about actual long term damage than being brave.
