What do we think about taking Lual / still not signed by Essendope? Playing on our VFL would be much better dev than the dopes? Really wanted him before they took him / not really a need but atm our small defenders are Buderick, JJ, Bramble. Sellwood and Dale are a bit bigger and don’t have the speed.

I am happy we kept Buku. I still see him as a decent third forward and can go back as a third back. He has got better each year and if he gets into the gym and uses it to build more confidence to crash in - he adds something. Not best 22 but we are one injury away from playing him - so he will play 20 games for us.

How much do we know about Scobie from WA. Handsome wraps as a good fullback?
Just be happy Essendon forced us to take Freijah instead 😆

Chatter over here amongst Perth Demons members is that he is worth a look .

Hence why Carlton were trying to get him. Hence why they're trying to be the Carlton Power this off season.

All making sense.

They have the draft picks, I'd say we have some competition on our hands.
They need picks for Cody Walker, who is almost certain to go first in next year’s draft, probably would have gone first in this year’s draft too.

Still hard to believe that the club chose not to pick up a guy like Steven May essentially for free during this trade period.

He could have been an immediate solution to our defensive problems for the 2026 season.

Why weren’t we interested?
Why are people so worried about him? Supposedly he doesn’t get along with people that well, so what?

How fragile is our culture that it’s not expected to be able to cope with a guy like that?

Not a guy that takes drugs and gets other people onto them, not a guy who hangs out with criminals, just a guy that isn’t everyones cup of tea.🤦🏻‍♂️

who are we hearing as ready to KPDs may be available;

1. Jacob Blight / is a unit!

2. Wade Derksen

3. Laverde (going to Giants??)

4. Scobie

5. Frost - oldest but probably safest bet but statistically Garnder better this year.

? I am a fan of the Hugh Dixon from Southport playing forward but has skill and aggression.

Do we think we will take any of those will be given a chance?

Because, as has been mentioned continuously when you've brought it up, he was shithouse this year and almost noone has their form rebound at that age.

How many times was it reported that the club was simply not interested in Steven May end of story

I have posted this previously a couple of years back ( sadly it seems to be a recurring theme for the Dogs) but is an option for a KPD, if there are no obvious candidates in state leagues, to look in those leagues for a mobile but undersized ruck man who because of his undersizedness ( I checked, it is a word) may not make it as a ruck but could be turned into a KPD?
As the old saying goes “desperate times call for thinking outside the box”.

Why weren’t we interested?
You can disagree but it's not that puzzling if we simply believe that his reduced form this year compared to years before is simply due to getting older and we think that decline will get worse, you know, as he is older again.

Slowing on field, a nightmare off it (I assume a lot more will come out in coming months).

There's a reason Melbourne shopped him, and a bigger reason nobody wanted him.

Nah he just punches his team mates and abuses his captain….

Did you watch him play at all last year. He had all of the flexibility of an 90 year old at an orgy.

He could have been an immediate solution to our defensive problems for the 2026 season.

What he would've been is an immediate destabilising influence on the playing group. Something that he was at the Suns and something that he was at Melbourne until they tired of his on-filed and off-field antics.

Why weren’t we interested?

Because we're a sensible club. And we saw the recruitment of a 34 year old well past his best as a completely pointless exercise.

Why are people so worried about him? Supposedly he doesn’t get along with people that well, so what?

This is somewhat problematic in a team environment.

How fragile is our culture that it’s not expected to be able to cope with a guy like that?

A culture as fragile as the club that was desperately trying to punt him for free. Without a single taker.

I guess the entire competition went woke when he became available.

Are you serious?

He's a guy so lacking in self control that after a drinking session said to one of his teammates that they would've lost the 2021 Grand Final if he'd played in it. To which his teammate took umbrage leading to a public brawl.

The guy is a cultural cancer.

It just goes to show how much a club will hold their noses when things are going well. Its only when things aren't that they seem to notice the stink thats always been apparent.

I'd be inclined to go with the club's judgement, rather than hark back to past on-field performances. They would have access to much more wide-ranging info than we do.

Yeah , a 90 yr old at an orgy can often start off like a house on fire , but come red time at the business end —-
Let’s just say ,the finish can be quite disappointing !!

So I’m told !
