Personally prefer Dolan over Arty now but good bench rotation between the 4 of themWest/Weightman/Arthur Jones will hopefully be our small-medium forwards to complement Croft/Naughton/Darcy come round 1.
Worst contract in AFL history??If we think Jamarra's $800k salary for 1 more year is a bit of a noose around our neck, I present to you the Clayton Oliver contract at Melbourne. Arguably the worst contract in AFL history.
Also, called it: https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/thre...gs-only-part-4.1245999/page-532#post-75476121
100%.Pity Oliver and Petracca Didn't shit themselves and implode on GF day 2021. I'd be a bit more happier..

Has a penchant for the nose beers...allegedly...Melbourne is willing to pay 700k per year for the next 5 years of Oliver's contract. He must be a complete cancer. What's the gossip on him?
100%.
My abiding memory of the last quarter and a half of that game was complete domination one way by one team, unfortunately for us it was not us. The situation at Melbourne just four years later is staggering.
I think his real name is Clayton
But does he live at home with both parents? Not sure I could stomach having a Clarence on the list.
No offence to any Clarence’s out there.
Didn't say he's not good, just saying that the one's I have mentioned have done it in big games and big finals and would be unanimously be known by most as the best small forwards in the game right now.How has West not reached that level?
West kicked more goals then them all this year in less games and was the number 1 F50 ground ball get player by a mile
2 of the guys you named there had kicked 20 goals total for the year in Hill and LohmannDidn't say he's not good, just saying that the one's I have mentioned have done it in big games and big finals and would be unanimously be known by most as the best small forwards in the game right now.
West just had his breakout season. He'll be there soon, I just don't have him there right now because he hasn't done it for as long as these other guys.
Why have Melbourne gone cold on him?
Jeez you love a good argument.2 of the guys you named there had kicked 20 goals total for the year in Hill and Lohmann
West was significantly better then all 4 of the guys you named this year their past finals performances are now as relevant as JJs Norm Smith Medal or Jack Macraes Gary Ayres
If Sanders requests a trade to Tassie, I’d expect we’d be compensated very well. Tassie have draft picks to burn.
Just a big fan of factsJeez you love a good argument.
Those were just examples sure. Some more are guys like Bailey and Kozzy. You know All Australians.
West had a good season yes. No one apart from maybe the blindest Dogs supporter would say that West is a better small forward so far in his career than any of the others. 1 good season doesn't cancel out the consistency of the others, especially in big games that matter.
If you wanna be specific about it West also feasted on a lot of the bottom 8 teams like our entire side did this year.
I know the contracts are similar but don't know figures. Very different pitches though which have us very much leading the way.Anyone know what we / North are offering Budarick? Understand it’s a three year deal but do we know if the remuneration differs greatly?

“Have you met Marcus?”I know the contracts are similar but don't know figures. Very different pitches though which have us very much leading the way.
If we keep most of Jamarra's contract on our books thoughts on a straight swap with Budarick? Maybe we send a late pick to them too?I know the contracts are similar but don't know figures. Very different pitches though which have us very much leading the way.
"Why be captained by Bont when you can have Jy Simpkin leading you out to an empty Marval each week and play with superstars like Zac Fisher, Darcy Tucker and Callum Coleman-Jones""Come play at North. We've been at rock bottom for a decade so the only direction we can go is up."
"Play with the captain that just re-signed for 4 years instead of the one actively trying to leave his club"."Why be captained by Bont when you can have Jy Simpkin leading you out to an empty Marval each week and play with superstars like Zac Fisher, Darcy Tucker and Callum Coleman-Jones"
Pretty sure related to ex skipper Glass too.hehe...you know something is up with us when west coast are beating us for players! Go home factor or not!
And Griffen Logue, Aidan Corr, Luke McDonald….it’s a tempting list!"Why be captained by Bont when you can have Jy Simpkin leading you out to an empty Marval each week and play with superstars like Zac Fisher, Darcy Tucker and Callum Coleman-Jones"
My hypothetical I posted yesterday wasIf we keep most of Jamarra's contract on our books thoughts on a straight swap with Budarick? Maybe we send a late pick to them too?
North want him for his versatility, see him playing variety of defence, wing and pressure forwards where as the dogs pitched a permanent return to defence."Why be captained by Bont when you can have Jy Simpkin leading you out to an empty Marval each week and play with superstars like Zac Fisher, Darcy Tucker and Callum Coleman-Jones"
Only way I can see us losing then is if North do a Saints and offer him 300k more then he is worthMy hypothetical I posted yesterday was
Jamarra & F3 for Budarick and F4. Purely speculation though.

You can draft and trade in players at the same time, which is what Geelong has done very well. This expectation that the players you draft are going to becoming reliable afl players isn't based in reality unless it's a single figure pick, and for high end players it's generally closer to a top 5 pick. If you trade out one pick it doesn't stop from bringing in a new group of draftees either and the current list has enough high end young talent so there's not a need to prioritise it like other clubs need to be doing.Which premiership team in the last decade was not predominantly built via the draft?
