Flanders will cost pick 7.

Aleer costing anything is an overpay

Well that is more than I expected. I hope they are getting something back if they are giving away seven. Maybe one of those trades where they do 7 for 15 and 20, then use one of those picks on Flanders and keep the other

I like Flanders but he is pretty vanilla

The only 2 games we never looked like winning all season were v Hawks & Crows. Even the Crows game we were in it for longer, but always seemed to be a step behind. Hawks dominated us start to finish because we always let Newcombe go untouched.

Sure, it means we butchered far too many chances a professional team ever should, but only a few tweaks & personnel changes could easily flip the script.

I just hope we are looking to be bold, as every other contender looks like they will be aggressive where they can too.
I thought there were way too many games where we got +5 straight goals kicked on us.
My nightmare from 21 GF

I don't know what peoples knock on Hobbs is, but his stats look good to me. I'd also be throwing a Rookie place at Davey who was desisted. Being a small forward in that club would be near impossible.

Our team is significantly better over the next few years with Ainsworth than it is with either Dolan or Dovaston, that shouldn’t even be up for debate.

I do love the shiny new toys out of the draft but the reality is very few first year players are able to come straight in and improve a team, especially those taken outside the top 30 which is where the pick we’d use on Ainsworth would end up landing.
Dovaston is a potential 1st round pick....i don't think I would trade a 1st for Ainsworth.

Suns will basically swap Flanders for Petracca, absolute madness.

Next year shapes as an intriguing year, from the current non finalist you have us and the Swans who would think we can make finals, so who drops out is the question.

It’s a solid young core, but no where near the talent where I think these additions will help them get anywhere meaningful.

Definitely don’t hate the strategy but definitely hate Saints fans acting like they’re a destination club .

I like what they are doing. We don’t need to try it as we’ve been very fortunate with father sons and we have had much better list management in place for longer. I do like the similar to money ball approach for the Saints through (even through they are paying top dollar for all these guys) in that they are actively hunting role players who will fill their needs as opposed to chasing elite players who are refusing to join them. They have genuinely given thinking differently a crack. They may still die and get stuffed right down the bottom of the ladder in a few years but they won’t die for lack of giving something different a crack.

Apologies if I have missed it but have we had our end of year interviews yet? If so was it just Scott and Liam Jones who were told no contract renewal?

Saints flogs calling our pursuit of Wilkie as a "debacle ":

"
Bains is weak and shafted Chris Grant because Grant disagreed withn Beveridge.
Beveridge is way more powerful at that club than Lyon will ever be at the Saints.
The Wilkie debacle was completely instigated by Beveridge who ran roughshod over Power.
When it wrnt belly up as Power said it would, don't be surprised if he gets blamed."

Lol morons

I can tell by the spelling errors.

Day 2 of wishing for Seamus Mitchell to come to us.

Can anyone comment on Wade Derksen's form in defence at VFL level? Numbers seem good.
I have no insight other than to say Melbourne pushing May out and struggling for KPPs across the park, yet completely losing interest in Derksen in the space of one year, doesn't fill me with confidence.

We have.

JJ was also told to wait.

At this stage that’s it but we don’t usually do all of the delistings in one go.

Yep

Been reported that JJ has been told to wait until the after the trade period for contract talks

Baker, Coffield and Poulter are also out of contract, at least publicly, but nothing has been said about them. Perhaps they have also been told to wait until after the trade period but since JJ is a bigger name he was the one reported

I think the taking the pi55 out of st Kilda comes from the amount of cash they're splashing around. It might work, but anyone would think they finished top two and not a mile off finals. Anyway...hopefully we get busy and land the biggest of the big fish this year or next.

It is strange

They did find one this season in Turner, I thought he was pretty impressive. My guess is they are finally moving Petty back where he is competent and finally ending the forward experiment

Still leaves them relatively light on for depth with only McDonald (just turned 33) and one gamer Jed Adams (who does seem internally rated)

Giants and Pies will be the sliders for me.

Clearly never watched him play.

Small, slow and terrible skills. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him make one positive play other than laying a decent tackle every now and then.

Literally have no idea what skills had him drafted so high.

Fair enough, I rarely watch Essendon, unless we're kicking their arse of course. An example of how stats can sometimes lie.

A little info about us

The Eagles are looking at options to group two of their picks – No.16 and No.22 – to shift up the board and claim another top-10 choice, with the Western Bulldogs having also been linked with interest in having a dip at the selection.

The Dogs have multiple strands already with the Suns, given Connor Budarick's trade request to the Bulldogs and the Suns being set to land Jamarra Ugle-Hagan. The Dogs currently hold picks 11 and 32 and look likely to take father-son Will Darcy in the back end of the draft.

VDM is to Hobbs what Bont is to VDM
Hobbs is genuinely the worst player to have ever played football at any level.
Hobbs would be a spud in VAFA Div 3 ressies
