trade bait

Draft a big key posi. player but while he develops we should have a serious crack at Troy Chaplin. Out of contract at the end of 2009 ;paying his last year wouldn't hurt us much and frees up Waite for CHF. Dangle a suitable mid. in front of choco's face and he might come to the party.

I think we should trade Simon Wiggins for Matthew Pavlich.

He could provide that second forward option we all agree we need. The more you think about it, the more sense it makes.

Look, I know Wiggins has been a great Carlton player, and is much loved around here (someone called me a "***" when I suggested the Wiggins wasn't very good just the other day), but you've got to give something to get something.

I think this is a risky, but ultimately a positive, move.

lol at all the people on here saying houlihan has trade value!!
could you please name me a club/coach who would be after a soft 26 year old HFF
who recently had surgeryon both hips? hoops has no trade value, so we would be
better off just keeping him on the list.

if the rumours are true and he wants to go back to SA let him - i'd be happy with porplyzia or tippett ;)

Either him or Kreuze are our future captain so I doubt we'd trade him. Carlton are not a stupid club, they knew Gibbs was young and might struggle to fit in around melbourne early. Hence why we also drafted one of his good school friends. The chance his friend will ever play AFL is very remote. As a club we are smarter than people give us credit for.

Tippet is the most over rated player I've seen in a long time. He was awesome in the pre season comp, good enough to get a spot in my DT side. However, he's done next to nothing all this season.

Great idea. I think we should also trade Cain Ackland for Dale Thomas and Scott Pendlebury. Jason Saddington for Matthew Scarlett, Tom Hawkins and Geelong's first round pick would be pretty good value too.

Both are just as likely as Freo letting Pav go for Wiggins.

Don't be ridiculous. We could never get all those players under the salary cap. You're just being silly.

Richmond might give us a second rounder for him like they did with McMahon. :o :)
Trade bait:

Ackland
Anderson
Bannister
Benjamin
Blackwell
Carrazzo
Fisher
Hadley
Hampson
Hartlett
Houlihan
Jackson
Asiake O'hAilpin
Pfeifer
Russell
Saddington
Wiggins

These are the players I see as tradeable, if we can get anyone better then that would be great. The others are untouchable, some of these players I don't think we would get much for but it's matter of opinion.
Stop posting about Hampson after your efforts in this thread and the thread about prospective footballers.

You compared him to Deluca

Hampson has re-signed with the Blues for three years.

Hampson commits for a further three years.

Hadley won't be traded either.

This forum is full of muppets with tish for brains.

Isn't anyone forgetting an obvious and highly valueable trade bait ?

I'm talking about Andrew Walker - No I'm sorry, but we could potentially get a top 5 draft pick for him (forget recycled players, unless it's Robbie Warnock, I want more high draft picks before the draft lock-out) and really I don't feel we've missed him much this season since he's been out, and yeah I'd say shop him around and see what we could get for him ..

For trades to be a reality it's a good idea for the player to be in agreement with the idea.

We don't need to trade, we've got the players now, apart from one more forward target (Waite will become this if Austin steps up next year, and this scenario is looking promising).

Unless someone like Mitch Hahn ( although he thinks celebrating wins is bad - ie:Aker) Brad Miller or Tom Lonergan want to come to us, we should just continue to develop our youngsters.

Wouldnt get a Top 5 pick for Walker IMO. Might get Top 10-15 max unless he can prove he can actually kick in the second half of the year, in which case we would probably keep him!
No-one will be giving up a top 5 pick with the lock-out coming up, only elite players such as Jon brown would attract that kind of pick.

So... trade a No.2 pick who is still maturing with awesome ability and talent... for a 1 - 5 pick?

No way, we should keep Walker, that guy will get better as he gets older, trains hard, is dedicated and is a potential Brownlow medallist, matchwinning midfielder.

We haven't even had the chance to see him play in a good team yet.

I believe he will blossum now, and I hope he puts his head down, has a great game for the Bullants and settles himself for next weekend when he comes back in.

Kruezer - Judd - Walker - Gibbs - Murphy '09 midfield destruction force.

With Stevo, Simmo, Army..etc etc chipping in.

I think we need to trade for these positions.

FF: Carrazzo Thornton *NewPlayer

HB: *NewPlayer Waite Jamison

C: Gibbs Stevens Scotland

HF: Walker *NewPlayer Simpson

FF: Fisher Fevola Betts

RR: Kreuzer Judd Murphy

Bench: Cloke, Hadley, Bower, Bentick

You don't rate Grigg, Arms, Browne, (Bower)?

Walker is a no go zone.

What are the chances of us shopping Hartlett around? And what would we expect or want for him, he hasnt delivered and its worth exploring our options with him.

You don't know how trades work, you must offer good players you either don't require or can replace, IMO he will be perfect (like Josh Kennedy). I'm not saying Hampson is no good but it is just a worry how he doesn't mark in a contest. After spending the day watching the NAB/TAC cup there are loads of talls that are already ahead of him. In his favour he is newish to the sport and may improve with added weight.

Walker can't be replaced and is underrated but every one, watch this kid rise to the top of the competition! He is the FAST, skillfull, high marking half forward/midfielder we are lacking. Like Dale Thomas but twice as good. At least.

Will we shop Russell around to Adel and PA

Oh and did anyone here a few people ringing on radio shows and sayingwere looking at Daniel Connors. They were richmond fans to
