Newton is contracted for next year. Unless we pay him out, which I doubt we can afford, he will still be on the list next year.

Miller possibly trade for mid-late pick

That would leave 6 spots for drafting/trading. Upgrade Valenti, use 4 picks in the National Draft, and use 1st pick in the Pre-Season Draft we will hopefully land someone good.
End of next season guys like Newton, PJ, Bartram, and maybe Bruce if he slows down? will all be looked at being moved on perhaps.

The man looked guenuinely upset as his stirred his 2 coffees... I honestly felt for him. Heres a man that gave Melb the best years of his life, he knows he won't be playing next year and he honestly believes he will not get another game for the year.

Surely this man will be given a farewell game? Surely now that you're priority pick is secured even if you beat us this weekend the melbourne coaching staff can find this Melbourne Hero a farewell game!!

He will get farewell game. I wouldn't be surprised if he played the last 3 but his days at melbourne are over.

True, and I also read an article on the MFC website stating that he will be focusing on getting himself fit for next season.

Either trade or he stays, that's how it will be.

Sorry to invade, quick question with Miller - I know he has played as a FWD most of his career, has he played back and if he did, how did he perform?

He used to play at both ends of the ground under Daniher. Had a few good games (one especially good game up against Barry Hall).

correct me if i'm wrong.. but bail or bale (not sure how to spell it) actually injured himself before the game started and they chose not to bring in an emergency?
regardless... my post was not about Robbo not playing on the weekend and wanting to know why.. it was about the fact he appears to understand he will never play again, thus missing a farewell game...

They didn't think Bail had pulled anything or he wouldn't have played/started on the ground, simple as that.

I was refering to:

Me - "Robbo you getting out there anytime soon?"

Robbo - "Na mate.. we're tanking"

This suggests Robbo thinks he isn't getting a game because we are tanking, which isn't the case.

In any case, he will get a going away game by choice or necessity at the rate we are picking up injuries.
