Assuming we will delist/trade 6-8 players. (Im guessing no more than 8 will go this year, after 14 went last year.) The 10 listed are the obvious ones under the pump. Simmo is gone so we don’t have to worry about him.

So considering where we are at now, new coach, rules, game plan, and reasonable unexpected form, large group of new debutants etc, at the half way point which three would you like to see get at least one more year in this transition period we are going through given that they will probably go the following year

Also the emphasis is more on delist than trade

I'd keep Nahas and Cousins, giving us 6 free spots on the main list. If I had to keep another, it'd be Polo. Polak's a rookie so it doesn't matter, really.

Polak is on the rookie list so delisting him doesn't open up a spot on the main list.

I went for White, Cuz and Nahas.

Cuz - if he is playing good footy keep him on - leadership qualities.
Nahas - only in second year as previously said. Can turn games. Is perhaps experiencing second year blues. West Coast/Brisbane would trade for him I would think so if there isn't a need for him trade.
White - has played some decent footy. is not up to it long term but Dimma is about building a culture then he gets a another year.

Trade

Polo - could be a reasonable player in a good side. Wouldn't be surprised if the Cats looked at him for depth to step in for Milburn.

Trade/Delist

McMahon - can go to the Saints for a low pick.

Polak - trade him back to Freo for their first rounder ;-)

Kingy - will be a VFL star (again) can get him in to do the plumbing at punt road. can't fault his effort and desire.

Thomson - nothing short of disapointing.

Hislop - see thomson - excluding the McMahon deal these were the two most short sighted drafting moves in our history.

Whilst i agree with those you have kept and deslisted it amazes me that you think we will be able to trade any of those players.

We will get nothing for those players, and even if someone did pick up a player like polo it would be in the PSD just for depth, no chance we will recieve anything in return.

May keep King aswell. i dunno i think he can play a role in certain games where we want a forward tag e.g on Didak, hes quick and tough enough, but obviously wont be best 22.

Polo is tradeable. Not saying we will get anything decent for him but merely that he is probably too good not to get another chance. Can see us doing a trade for Polo for a very low pick that a club like Geelong probably wouldn't use anyway. Just a way of helping him get where he wants to go.

King for me is a almost a definate delist. You don't keep a player on your list just becasue he can do a job here and there. Would rather see a speculative pick on the list than persevere with Kingy. We picked up Nason from the Central District twos and he has gone past King. Let the recruiters have another dip I reckon.

Polo has attracted interest already of other clubs and they are at the top end of the ladder.

Cousins, White and King I would keep

Id assume that Polo, McMahon, Rance, Hislop and Thompson will be gone along with Simmonds so theres 6

Rance wont go. Voted for Polo and Nahas. But i can see Polo not on the list next year and white will be.

Just the one. I think amcre miss understood and marked all but the 3 he wanted to keep.
Yes I certainly did. I thought it was bizarre people wanted to chop Cuz and Nahas the most lol. I will learn to read properly next time.

Does anyone actually have details of who is out of contract this year????

Club wouldn't cut McMahon last season with a year left and perhaps even Connors was lucky he was contracted at the end of last season. Doubt Club will change policy so that does limit who is going to be ont he chopping block.

The good thing about Polo is clubs will probably only remember his first game, and see that as a sign of huge undeveloped potential, this will give him a moderate value for trade.

I'd keep Nahas, Cousins and White. Gilligan and Roberts though rookies have show squat in their coburg games, White is at least developing.

I still am not convinced about white at all. He is your typical down hill skier who wont take us anywhere. May look good and quick but when the team isn't performing well he is lucky to be getting in double figures for his disposals. He also butchers the ball far too much similar to Raines (which was a good move by the club :thumbsu:)

Should not delist a tall player instead of a small.

Give Polak a chance. We should not be talking about delisting him until at least next year anyway. If he cant break into the side by then, fair enough, we delist him. But the bloke is only just beginning to play footy after his accident.

Mark Coughlan 2.0. Why keep him on the list for all that time and then just delist him when he starts playing footy again. Outrageous. :thumbsu:

This is so spot on. Down hill skier and manages to look like he is AFL standard in maybe 3-4 games a year. Has about 6 disposals a game when we struggle and his skills are horrible. This guy needs to be replaced with a decent HFF from the draft or Troy Taylor!
