Sheerin has been extraordinary, unfortunately her story is underplayed being W game . To come in at the elite level and go bangggg and be at the top of the game is something else , she plays with the dare of Alex Rance , is as strong as an ox , has great balance and ball handling , kick a little crude but good distance. Pity prob only 1-2 more seasons , a delight to watchagain, i can't praise you enough toenail63, you've gone to 2 X Legend in my books.
we couldn't go wrong with such a player with our last pick.

i'd guess that McDonald and Darcy are gonski.
yeah agree, would keep Woods and Peck, they're still young.

it's funny reading on the Crows AFLW board where they already have our pick No9 for their 2nd string ruck.
it's so funny that they're already discussing packaging our No9 and their No18 for GWS No3.

The last 2 years, 7 players left, previous season 8 and we've currently got 3 gone in Kiely, J Hosking and Williams you would think with the unplanned extended list that there will be 8 possibly more?
We've had players like Houtsma and Taylor come onto the list and come off it without playing a game. I can't remember did Hanna McLaren play a game?

Katelyn Cox - Maybe, unless Ferg see's her as a forward
Lily Pierce - Yes
1 of Reid, Woods or McLelland
1 of Knoll or Peck
D'Arcy? only saving grace we are light on forwards

interesting fact:
every single player that's been listed as inactive for the year has been de-listed the following year, except Ryan and Lavey so far.
Williams is gone.

Hanna McLaren didn't play a game.
D'Arcy I'd de-list, too slow, too old (34 next year)
yeah, forgot about Cox, maybe.
we have KPD depth: Miller, Graham and Peck (Seymour?)
we have KPF depth: Brennan, Greiser and Woods (who's a Fwd but is played everywhere else)
you can never have too many quick, agile, good ball users, so we should go for a mid/def or mid//fwd.
there's quite a few around No9.

Wow it's a tough gig if your not a top tier player.
I thought the game looked past D'Arcy a couple of years ago but then we lost a few forwards, Bernadi, Stahl and even Jacques and we've slowly replaced them, so I often wondered if it was a lack of depth.
With Hicks coming in it may depend where we play her, GWS played her back. It may be harder to place cox now.
Adelaide one of 3 clubs that have spoken to Elaine Grigg, part of that SA super team however interestingly she has nominated for the national draft. May be one to look at 9

yes, noticed that about Hicks.
there's 7-8 players in the mix down back and that's not including Sheerin, who i believe will go into the midfield.
i've got Piper Window as No1, but she's nominated SA only.

that'd be my top 5, the rest up to 14-15 are about even.
yeah, Elaine Grigg can play on all 3 lines, fantastic player, would be my next, but i expect her to be gone before No9.
but i suppose it would depend on what the final draft order would be.

Great top 10 there Stan, I knew you'd be across it. It would be good to see it unfold as you predict and 3 non-victorians go to vic clubs in the top 10. It's only just come in but the AFLW needs to transition to a full national draft asap.
You can see the value with keeping pick 9 if there are going to be good players up to pick 15, we'll have options for that best available range 6 -14/15 that may also see a need filled.
Will be interesting if Sheeran moves to the mids next year how we then restructure the backs, we've got some good players down there but we would need to get cracking on the game plan when you lose one of the leagues best line breakers who turns the heels on your opponents, to then having to go to a cause stoppage/win stoppage plan. Would need to use Shevlin and Miller as your outlets.
If we could sort out our forward efficiencies, and spread of goal kickers, it would work to have Sheerin in the middle and then have the luxury to send Brennan to the backline. Not much to ask from our forwards coaches, whoever they are.

yes, i agree No9 in this draft is like No2 or No3 in former state-based drafts, i hope we keep it.
i hope Ferguson saw what we are capable of with a few positional changes in our last game.
changes that had us kicking our highest score, highest winning margin and our highest goals in a quarter.
Shosking as a pressure fwd, Sheerin as a mid, Shevlin on a wing, even Peck as a tall down back, all worked brilliantly.
1st time all our starting mids had over 22+ disposals each.
we should be expecting this type of performance each week, we certainly showed we're capable of it.
hopefully good times ahead.
I think coxy is a battler , prob keep Meg. Mac ahead of her , small , very poor contested player
Sheahan is going trade all our picks for duds again. Watch this space.
Pick 9 is definitely gone.

Hopefully can keep #11 for the draft and then use the other picks to get the targets we're after. Maybe that was the only way to get them all and keep a first rounder (to bump back 2 spots and get another 2nd rounder in). Time will tell.

Miller, Peck and Graham are a good bunch as our KP's down back.
Gabby would be too slow to be Sheerin's like for like cover.
I'd be more inclined to have Gabby as a marking target in the fwd line.
really missed that marking tall since Wakefield retired.
fair enough she wouldn't be the best kick for goal, but no worse than a few we have there already. she could also take the ruck contests there, which is way better option than what Grieser and Brennan do ATM.
keep our main ruck, McKinnon?, for the oppo's D50 exit, down the line kick.
thoughts on Ellie Mac as a Quarterback role in D50 as a Sheerin replacement?
