A new one from the Freo board (I know, but I can't help myself). This one has reached new heights for stupidity:

"Pick 3 is worth twice as much to GWS as it is to non-academy clubs."

If we do find ourselves in the unfortunate position of him in a WCE jumper next season, I reckon whenever he kicks a goal the crowd should do the fist pump. Oh god, I really don't want this to happen :(
Lot of fist pumps in 2017 for sure , i might even sponsor the great one .

Know many comments have been stated over the thread, but surely the reality after today's signings, is if we don't get Mitchell, we go to the draft!!!
Only potential out of any value I can see is Mackenzie. See what we get when he goes and maybe potentially upgrade draft order??
No more Darling trade talk!!!
Is that where we are at??? Thoughts???

Tell me I am stupid... wouldn't it be better to sign up the WAFL's best ruckman (whoever that is) on a 1 year deal than pick up an AFL non-ruckman who is struggling to get though a season?
Well the State ruckman was Paul Johnson. He just retired.

Well the dueling banjos phenomenon is quite rampant in Lavender Land.

Oh dear bless.

Same poster thought it would be a good idea to offer Hogan $5m over two years once this new contract runs out (so the Dees couldn't match it).

Trade period reaches a new pinnacle every year.

can anyone please explain why we would be even considering petrie?
we need to fill a ruck role short term and he simply isnt a ruck.
surely the club knows this, its not even like he is durable.
genuine question.

also as much as i cant stand boomer, if we are going to get one of these top up players surely he fills a better void.
what we brought in jetta to do, outside run, nice supply to forwards and sneak a few goals, boomer is perfect for.

if ballantyne is in the frame id prefer boomer even in the ballantyne role.

its depressing that we are even discussing these names, but unfortunately its the reality this year :(

also are we any chance to made a bid for tom mitchell?
if we had room/money to consider lobb and hogan, surely we can use a similar currency to go for Mitchell?

or is he balls deep with hawthorn already?

Thought it was obvious to rule out retiring players and those linked to WCE or Freo.
My point was, that's the standard of rucks you're talking about. The best ruck in the WAFL was a guy that moved on from 3 AFL clubs and is now retired. The next best is probably Angus Graham, ex-Richmond and Adelaide (although nobody remembers him as ex-Adelaide because he didn't get a game in two years).

Darcy Cameron is the most promising of the youngsters but there's no guarantee that (a) he'd be ready for AFL next year or (b) someone else won't grab him before we do.
